| I'm still here Okay, sorry. I am still here but i am SO BUSY with the credential program. I have to accumulate at least 90 hours of fieldwork. I have assessments and projects and lesson plans due. It is NUTS, but thats what i get for taking the "fast track". I just wanted to let you all know that i am still around, i am still taking time to draw (that habit i will not ever give up again) and i am halfway through 'hell semester'. i am on week 5 of the 10 week slam of college courses. the last five weeks of the semester only include student teaching, and one evening class in art (lol.... gee you guys, do you think i could pass the art class???) so the last five weeks are going to be a peice of CAKE compared to the rest. The program is interesting because it is credit/no credit. Anything below a B is not passing. Thank god i havent had a problem in this department thus far, all my work has been A quality and i recieved an 87% on the mandatory phonics test that all of us must pass (7 in my class didn't pass). At the end of this semester i will receive an "intern credential" which will allow me to apply to districts and get hired on as a teacher (even though i havent passed ALL my classes yet). The districts have an advantage of hireing interns because they dont have to pay us as much (reg teacher: 41,000, teacher with intern credential: 31,000) but that is more benficial to us because there is more likelyhood we will be hired. As i said before, i am still doing my art, and i am still reading for pleasure. Hey, i have to keep my sanity SOMEHOW. So that is what i have been up too, i haven't abandoned yorkitalk for good. lol, just for ten weeks or so |
