| Having a Problem, Need your Help! Ok, So if you remember I had my gall bladder out two weeks ago this coming Monady. I have been having pain on my right side just under my rib cage. Surgeon said it was a routine case, everything went as planned. I shouldn't be having any pain. He sent me for blood work. The pain isn't always there. It is however there when I laugh, burp, cough, sneeze, etc. Its a sharp pain and its it only on my right side. I can not roll over in bed to my right side without waking up in pain. If I breath deep I can feel it most of the time.. The Doctor seems stumped. This is where you guys come in.. Does anyone have any clue as to what this could be?? I have a high pain tolerance , so I don't think its a LITTLE something, and I'm starting to get a bit freaked out!! If you have any thoughs, no matter how weird they might seem, please send them my way!! Thanks

| Thanks to both of you! First I thought it could be gas, so I took some gas-x, but it didn't go away(and the fact that its been two weeks, thats a long time for gas to be trapped) I read that article and believe me I'm thinking that maybe it wasn't my gall bladder either! I hopefully will get the results from the blood test I took Friday and if nothing I'm going back to my MD, maybe she can find something or send me for more tests. I have just woken up, I'm sore on my right side, like someone punch me, after sleeping on my right side all night I wasn't able to turn over or even lay on my back without discomfort.. I feel like a baby, and I hate being sick!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Ask them about your spleen.....a few years ago my husbands ruptured and we don't know why.... but it was awful .....SAME Symptoms....the pain was from his insides filling up with blood........he actually died on the operating table and they brought him back. I know this DOES NOT help you feel better & it's probably NOT this - but it's worth asking about. The first symptoms were feeling like he had indegestion or gas and it just got steadily worse....using Gas-X was something we tried till he ended up in the ER. GOOD LUCK !!! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Let me retract....ask them to xray you and check ALL organs if they can - I really don't want to scare you but your symptoms don't sound right and after watching my husband go thru bleeding internally without knowing it - I will never forget the shock of finding out why he was so sick....it's possible they nicked an organ ? then again...it's possible the pain is from your surgery and you're just healing but it doesn't hurt to cover ALL your bases. |

| Thanks V, but the doctor said all went well, He said he doesn't know why I would have pain. I know that its not the surgery from the gall bladder that is making my pain, as that is just about healed and the pain even through its still on the right side is not in my back where the first pain was. After I get the results from the liver function test, I will then make a decision to go back to my MD (if the don't find anything). Let pray that its not bad..For someone who has never been really sick before this whole experience is freaking me out a bit!
