Angry 63 Animals Removed From Roach-Filled Mobile Home

63 Animals Removed From Roach-Filled Mobile Home

Animal control officers in Brevard County, Fla., removed 63 animals from a mobile home filled with roaches and covered in animal feces, according to a Local 6 News report.

Brevard County sheriff's deputies said an anonymous caller said "something was not right" at a mobile home located on Camp Road in Canaveral Groves, Fla.

When officers and animal services entered the structure, they found ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, parrots, turtles, dogs, cats, mice and other birds stuffed into the dilapidated home filled with feces.

Local 6 News showed video of walls covered with hundreds of roaches.

"It was truly a house of horrors by anyone's standards," Local 6 reporter Donald Forbes said. "What they found left many of these seasoned officers horrified and disgusted."

"During yard work, I could smell stuff but I thought it was in the shed," neighbor Joann Ware said. "I had no idea it was in the house."

Police said Wade Fuller, 75, was living inside the home with the animals, including nine dead animals.

"From my understanding, the owner is in the hospital at this time," Brevard County Animal Services spokesman Bob Brown said.

Local 6 News learned that Fuller was in serious condition at Cape Canaveral Hospital but his illness was not known.

Animal control officer said they have been to the home four times in the last five years over neglected animal problems.

The animals were transported to the Brevard County Animal Shelter.

It was also not known if Fuller would face charges in connection with the case.

Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.

That is absolutely disgusting, those poor babies. And you could smell it from the yard just imagine how bad it smelled in the house if you could smell it from the outside!!!

Yea, it's gross, but I always feel a little sorry when the "owner" turns out to be someone in the seventies. A lot of times, they didn't mean to not take care of the animals, they just can't. Can't take care of the animals or themselves either. Sad

News here did a story on an old lady who was literally living in a house filled with rats....not pet rats. They showed the rats rounding around like they owned the place. That was disgusting and sad all at the same time. Apparently no one cared enough about this lady to help her

That's horrible!! You'd think her kids would help her out a little or maybe just a neighbor or something. How humiliating for her to have her home on television like that.
That article is sooo disturbing...It's sick, poor animals...

These stories always remind me of Animal Cops. I LOVE that show...but hate it at the same time, you know? Does anyone else watch that?

At the same time the animal services should have removed the dogs a long time before that incident. This was the 5th time they were called over there. If the man was too ill to take care of them, they should have made the judgement call of taking the animals out of there for not only their health, but his own. In this case they were all pets, except for the roaches I believe. But the roaches were probably a product of being messy or the other animals. As for the pests and such, I feel very bad for that lady. I wish there was a service that checks in on the elderly if they have no family or friends to make sure they're okay. It must be terrible to be forgotten like that.
