I Love Thor Donating Member | Could it be allergies? If it is, maybe you don't know, but try taking an antihistomene (sp??) like advil sinus headaches. Some times certain brands don't work well with your body, so maybe try switching to aleve, or tylenol. Also drink plenty of clear fluids (preferably water) and have you been taking the meds every 4 hours? Or maybe try doing something other than looking at a computer screen. Takes breaks and look out side, give your eyes a rest. I hope you feel better soon. |

| Kristy, I'm so sorry to hear about your headache but can certainly sympathize with you. I, too, am a migraine headache sufferer. I have prescription meds for when they are really bad but I have found that Excedrin Tension Headache works great provided I am able to take 2 of them when I first feel one coming on (if I wait too long, I have to take the prescription med). I tried the Excedrin for Migraines but found the Tension one works better for me. I would suggest either of these over the regular excedrin. I sure hope you get to feeling better soon! Suzi |

| Headaches Suck Hi, I get migraines ALL the time that sometimes last for days. I use the BC/Goody's headache powders, they usually always work for me. Excedrin migraine works alright too. I have a prescription for Imitrex that I use if all else fails b/c its so freakin expensive! My dad gets allergy/sinus migraines really bad all year and he swears that the only medicine to get rid of them is the BC Powder for Allergy & Sinus headaches. Hope you get to feelin better!

I can't take the Excedrin because of the caffeine. I get them and the Imitrex makes me feel like I don't even have one after I take it. Woooo Hooooo. I would ask your doctor about treatments for the migraines!

I used to really "enjoy" Tylenol 3 with codiene, for obvious reasons. It can make you really high. Doctors are reluctant to prescribe it because it is so addictive. Fortunately, I never got to that point.

| I had my first migraine at 18 , I'm 47 now. I use Imitrex too!. It is the only thing that will work 100% of the time. Before Imitrex I used TAVIST Sinus formula, it took off the edge. But I would get to a doctor soon, you don't need to suffer from migraines. Get a prescription, for a just in case. Hopefully you will never have to use them.

| I too am a migraine sufferer. Have been for about 24 years now. I just got back from a doctor visit today regarding my migraines (in the last 2 months I have had 5 migraines and 3 extreme tension headaches). I know all of my trigger foods and avoid them. I know what will also bring one on and try to avoid that also-such as skipping a meal or eating too much during one meal. I use Imitrex and it is a lifesaver. Have to do the pill form, can't do the inhaler. Now for the extreme tension headaches I have tried a numerous version of things. From 800mg of Ibuprofen along with Ultram to Pain-aid and Excedrin migraine and Excedrin tension. Those are the hardest ones to get rid of. I have tried several types of preventive meds and we are going to try another type this time. My doctors unfortunately would not just give me medications for migraines in the beginning. I had to jump through all of the hoops. Switch birth control to see if that was it, have eyes checked, see dentist regarding possible TMJ, tests for hypoglycemia, anti-depressants for depression and then on to the neurologists for gobs of tests. That doctor wanted me to try bio-feedback before he would ever diagnose as migraines. I told that crazy man had he ever had such extreme pain and then try to "work himself through it?".........I don't think so!!!!!!!!! Finally the migraine diagnosis. Thank god!!!!!!!!!!! Now life is a lot more tolerable. But yes, stress can definitely be an inducer along with what others have said-weather changes and hormone changes. I wish you luck with it all. Headaches can definitely stop us dead in our tracks!!!!
