| Im getting a new house My husband and I found a house we wanted to build so we have been saving a little bit that we can save from our monthly income. My husband has his own business and he just got a big account and now it looks like we will have the money for our house in one year. I am so excited!!!!! The house we are in now is so small and we have outgrown it. The subdivision that we will be moving into even has a dog park with agility things in the park. This is my lucky day. I had kinda given up hope that we were going to be able to get in in time to get in this subdivision.

| Oh no! You're in for a big treat! It's really something special. You'll get a chance to pick out a lot of things for the house - all to your own style. We were military for 27 years and while moving around we bought 4 houses! It was so hard to save money back then as we still had kids at home. It will be exciting for you. I'm happy for you!

And as far as being a pain, I've always heard that no matter when they say everything will be ready-still add a couple of months because they're never on time!

say would you mind telling this couple that there move in date will be chaged to and I never gave them that date...I added a couple more weeks always. Someone said you get to pick out a few things....YOU HAVE TO PICK OUT EVERYTHING from every knob on a cabinet to every piece used to landscape. Some people love that but others have no idea what they are getting into and just pull their hair out. If you are orgainized and have a good idea of design and what you want the end result to look like, you will be fine. I always wished we would have built.

| That's wonderful! Congrats! We just moved (in June) into our new house that we built. It was completely custom meaning everything was up to us. We had the plans drawn basically from a piece of paper we had drawn it up on. Then on top of that, we did so much of it ourselves. We painted the entire outside (hardi plank) and inside (I did about 80% of this part myself - inside and outside!), laid the wood and tile floors, the painting included all of the cabinets too - the office has stained wood, the rest painted. We also built the fireplace hearth and tiled all the kitchen backsplash AND my husband (along with his BIL, an electrician) did all the electric. Then we put in the water sprinkler and all the landscaping AND my husband completely put up the 1500 sq ft metal building that he uses for his body/paint shop. QUITE a tough year but so worth it! Have fun with it and it will go great!
