Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Anyone know how to get rid of moles in the yard? I'm frustrated...we've had some kind of burrowing animal (moles?) making holes in our yard for a couple years now. I cannot figure out how to get them to leave the premises! I've looked on Amazon at those buzz-emitting spikes you can put in the ground, but all the reviews are just terrible. I do not want to kill them, btw, not under any circumstances. I just want them to move out . Has anyone had this problem and gotten them to leave your yard...? Thanks for any help!

| I had voles that dug up my lawn. They are in the same category as moles. I purchased coyote or fox urine from a farm supply store and put a few drops around the whole area where the burrowing was going on. So if you have an area of them that is like a 10 foot area, I would put a few drops forming a circle around the area. If it rains, I'd put more. Finally they were gone. Hope I explained it ok.

| They sell products that are mole repellents, they are typically castor oil based granules. Imagine your yard was a square (maybe it is, lol) you start closest to your home and saturate the area with granules working your way outward over a period of days as though you are pushing them out of your yard and into your neighbors (because you arE). Mole scram is one brand I am aware of.

| Caster oil is poisonous so be careful with your babies. Human urine will deter them. Urinate in a bottle and pour into their holes. I'm sure you would have to repeat on a daily basis until they get the message. It's probably not a permanent solution but your hubbies is free.

You can also capture the moles in safe traps and give them a new home.

| Decades ago, I was really good at catching them with scissor traps. Since that isn't what you want to do another of the old school methods, in addition to urine, is human hair placed inside of their mounds. With a tiny shovel dig into one of their mounds until you reach the tunnel, place hair, urine, dog feces, stuff like that.... Repeat in the other mounds as you accumulate the apex predator scented material. Successful mole trapping requires the use of gloves so that human scent doesn't ever get on the traps... If a trapper doesn't use gloves and is still occasionally successful, he's just lucky. But you really are just chasing them into a neighbor's yard and they will likely be back if no one eradicates them. |

| Just tell him he's got to practice for an audition to play Jack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9WNVeWgT8M Any apex predator hair, human or dog should work just fine also. |
