| Urban Legends I was reading taldeb's thread about Swifters and it made me think of all the urban legends I have heard in my life. I don't recall a thread ever being on this subject, so wanted to ask everyone urban legends they have heard. Thought this might be fun! I will go first: Have y'all heard the one about the rats coming up to eat the garbage disposal food? taldeb's thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...6049-help.html

| snopes says no: Febreze Pet Danger : snopes.com but..... I am one who owned a cat never exposed to fabreze UNTIL my GF moved in and she used it frequently... my cat died at a younger than usual age, I still believe it was that damn stuff. |

| How long do cats live? I use Febreeze .....my son has a cat....cat is 13 years old....how long do cats live? I do not like cats, know nothing about cats, but my son helps with my dogs so I tolerate his cat! Apparently the Febreeze is not affecting this cat...??? Hopefully not....I wont be cruel or not take care of the cat, and I certainly dont want to kill it with Febreeze..... |

| Chemicals Personally, I believe that animals respond differently to certain chemicals just as humans do. Something that may not affect one animal (or human)can be deadly to another. Not because it kills "dogs" or "cats" or "humans" but because the individual has a reaction...... sometimes fatal, sometimes not. The best thing to do is use your intellect and evaluate the situation. Especially when using new products and/or introducing a new pet to a new environment. Sometimes it simply a process of elimination. Always best to err on the side of caution. |

| Here is another urban legend I heard for the first time last week. Our office personnel each received email about $35,000 worth of UPS uniforms being bought and this could be by terrorists. I thought, thank heavens I know the face of our UPS driver. Anyway, I asked our UPS person and he said this is an urban legend and has been around for at least four years. Anyone else heard that one?

| Asian moms are a great source for urban legends. Two recent ones are don't eat sushi/sashimi bc you will get worms, and don't use chopsticks from restaurants/bring your own. Apparently the chopsticks are made of cheap chemical ridden wood from China (that part I believe) and better to bring your own metal ones. What's funny is they use mainly collapsible/telescoping metal chopsticks and not once have I seen my mother wash them. Just wipe them down, collapse them and put them back in her purse.
