New hair salon ideas! My friend and I are seriously thinking about opening a new hair salon in a new town and we're trying to think of some unique/different things to offer and bring in new customers. I'm curious about what people think about what we have come up with. First, I thought about "build your own box". We set up boxes of mini/travel size hair/nail/skin products and the customer picks a certain number of things to put in a box, or bag, for a certain price. Monthly raffle baskets. Customers can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a basket of products and maybe a gift certificate for a hair service. Client referrals. (haven't thought about exactly how to do that yet) Maybe a monthly Facebook challenge. People who "like" our salon page can post statuses and photos with a certain tag about the challenge and be entered to win something. Monthly specials on services. Product of the month. Happy hour. Maybe offer a certain service for a special price between certain hours of the day. (Everyday? Once a week? Weekends only?) What would be appealing to you as a customer or catch your attention? I am open to any and every idea and opinions! Also, we haven't 100% decided on a name yet either, so any suggestions you guys have would be awesome! Thanks!

I'm sure others have given this a thought but.... How about certain days of the week (or month), you offer "Bring your furkid~" day? They can get their hair done and have their furbutt groomed at (around) the same time.

My salon punches the back of their business card with every cut- buy 10 get one free! I never use the free one but I think it's a good idea for keeping the card.

Oh, and the corniest, silliest name (but I always remember it!) I think we have over here is "Curl Up and Dye" - how retro!!!!

We have a salon that every Tuesday a portion of there profits goes to the local womens shelter. They also do back to school specials, and take donations for the homeless shelter. Perhaps you could do something similar? Or something for the local animal shelter? Maybe do Friday night specials. style of choice for so much off, so those going out can get their hair done before hand?

And thanks Magnus, but we don't do dog grooming lol. If we did or had a groomer working with us, that would be a good idea! | |
