| If you decide to use/buy one of those steam mops (we have the shark steam mop), I suggest you empty out the water after use. Also, every so often, pour in a bit of CLR and let it sit till next use. I've had issues with the buildup and it wouldn't work. I saw that it was a common problem for a lot of ppl. |

| I use a steam cleaner also with just plain water (I do not want to use a cleaner on a floor that I walk on and Sophie Kate is lays on).

| Would this work for laminates too? Or just real wood floors?

| instead of putting the vinegar in the chamber, I just put vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray the floor then steam over it. It works great.

| I use a steamer. Works beautifully, is quick and easy and never streaking. It also kills all germs, bacteria and such.

| Steamers only kill bacteria if you leave it in place for 15 seconds or more, which would damage wood and laminate floors. This is why I got rid of mine, it was useless to me, didn't clean that well, actually. Good old vinegar and water here!

| I also just got a steamer mop for general cleaning. It is so convenient for quick cleaning. I usually clean my floors on my hand and knees with vinegar, water and a bit of Mrs. Myers gardenia general cleaner. I don't like the way a mop or steamer misses the corners and edges so I still get out the bucket in between using the steamer mop.
