| Just because a member is "new"... PSA from a newb To this forum does not mean they are ignorant, does not mean their OPINIONS have to be rudely put down, and it certainly doesn't mean that from a simple profile you can assume you know anything about them. Ideas differ, opinions differ, and adults can discuss those differences respectfully. I am more than willing to do that. That said, if I am talked down to or insulted, I will return the favor. I am new to Yorkies (I'm actually getting a Biewer, but this is as close a community I could find), but I am not new to dogs by a very, very long shot. I do not appreciate being treated like a moron because of this. I can handle difference of opinion, but I cannot sit back and let someone's ASSUMPTION of ignorance go unspoken. Just a PSA I think some of you may need. I do look forward to getting to know you all. I will not be treated like I'm an imbecile. Your opinion, or mine for that matter, is NEVER the only correct one. Hope you all have a great night. |

Yes...I'm the one doing that. You are taking mine just as they are written, right? For the record "I don't believe you" = calling me a liar. And it's not "some internet cure". Many homeopathic leaning vets prescribe it before liver killing shots and hypothalamus-wrecking dips. It is well received. While we are at it, the number one prescribed mange shot...not even approved for mange treatment. It is used outside it's actual usage parameters. | |

So, I agree with most of what you said. Where our opinions diverge, however, is where you say you basically believe in respectful discourse -- at least until you're treated poorly, at which point it seems you believe in returning the favor. I totally disagree with that direction. Because at that point, in my opinion, you become *exactly* like anyone else who treats others w/ disdain and disrespect. You truly cannot have it both ways - you have to decide...you can either be a respectful person, or a vindictive person...you can't have it both ways. Anyway, thanks for posting a PSA. I'm sure some people need it, while others may not. Either way, it does no harm and could serve as a friendly reminder.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Well, I always appreciate honesty, so I respect this statement and the fact that you're vulnerable when being treated poorly. We'd just ask that you try to err on the side of being respectful, and that you post within our Rules and Guidelines. We do encourage all kinds of opinions and hope that everyone maintains an open mind and a calm....typing hand.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I don't doubt it...I haven't seen anything "unlikeable" about you. This is a big community and conflict does happen, unfortunately, and feelings get charged up. Been there, done it myself. We have all been there. The upside is that people can and do move on/move forward from stuff.
