Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Plastic Dryer Balls / Wool Dryer Balls - Do They Actually Work? Has anyone tried these: Amazon.com - Whitmor 6754-3655 Dryer Balls Set of... Or these: Amazon.com: Smart Sheep 3-Pack 100% Wool Dryer... Do they work? I'm trying to stop using dryer sheets for static etc and wondering if I should try the balls.

| Yes the balls work. I have the yellow as seen on tv ones. I have 6 in use at a time. The only thing I think doesn't do well is fleece. All else works great! I didn't like the harder type of balls like the hedgehog and the wool made me itchy! I got my dryer balls at bed bath and beyond.

| I have ridiculously sensitive skin and it's gotten worse. A few years ago I had to stop using fabric softener and dryer sheets. I just wash my clothes in free & clear detergent (whatever's on sale) and vinegar. My clothes are soft and not static-y, even when I wash my fleece PJ pants. |

| I have 4 blue balls pictured, bought them from bed bath & beyond, 2 separate x's. One set is very hard & the other 2 is softer...have no idea why. Been using them 4ever but I still use dryer sheets, just for the smell. They do work but they don't work on microfiber towels. I air dry those, use them to dry off the fur butt's paws (it takes the smell out too). Sometimes one will sneak into the dryer & if I happen to have their fleece blankie in there, the microfiber towel will be stuck on it & give me electricity shock when I peel it off! Quote:

| I just use a couple of slazenger tennis balls when drying items I need to fluff, like comforters and pillows. It also cuts down on drying time...I'm not sure how, but it does!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Interesting...you mean plain aluminum foil, I assume?

| The plastic ones I have run about a year before I replace them. The hedgehogs and harder balls have cracked open on me.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Yep, plain old aluminum foil. You want to make tightly packed balls about the size of tennis balls. They need to be heavy enough to help separate the clothes to decrease drying time. Adding vinegar to your rinse cycle also held with softening. You'll be amazed at how much more absorbent your towels will be after doing this.
