| Beauty question So, I am using many different hair products and my hair has been better. I remeber I have heard that clarifying shampoo can help me return my hair in its natural state when it was so awesome. Is that right? Have you use it? Are they really that good? |

| Clarifying shampoo just takes all the build up from products off the hair. If you color your hair, clarifying also makes it fade more/faster. What is the problem you're having with your hair? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | This kind of shampoo is stripping and it will remove any product build-up you have on your hair - is that what you're wanting to do? I wouldn't recommend using a clarifying shampoo every day unless you have very oily hair.

| I don't color my hair I just use many hairspray and gel :/ Yeah, I googled my condition and I must admit I consider using it every day, but then I read on this site about shampoo for hair that that isn't good. And now you tell me the same thing. I guess I would use it just to make my hair better, maybe once a week? Is that OK? |

| If you use a lot of products w/ silicone in it (i.e. hair shine serum) then you should use a clarifying shampoo. The silicone coats the hair, creating a barrier, preventing moisture from getting in. So ultimately, you end up w/dry brittle hair. You might be better off using a more natural shampoo w/out sulfates. L'oreal makes good inexpensive ones.

| I use a clarifying shampoo once a week. The rest of the time regular shampoo and conditioner and the other products I use.
