| La Habra Earthquake! I thought this was it...thought this was the big one...it was only 5.1, it felt like 7 or 8! I'm in Fullerton, @ my aunt's house w/my 4 fur butts & it was centered in La Habra, very close to here, a neighboring city. The lights went out but came right back on. I saw all 4 fur butts scurrying around & trying to hide, my Mom was upstairs taking a shower...I screamed, was so F__ing scared...my hands were shaking for a good half hour. Cabinets opened up, stuff fell out, glasses broke, the garage is a mess, dvd tower fell over, stuff on fireplace mantle fell off...my aunt & uncle are in Korea. Cell phones didn't work for about half an hr, finally got to talk to my Dad in LA, he's ok. My other aunt in Fallbrook called to see if we're ok, she felt it too, she's close to San Diego. Hope everyone near here are ok! Priscilla, Uni & Toto are in Anaheim...close by. Learned on the news that there's a fault right under us!

| Luckily, the P clan are in their new home far far away from the quake. Kaji and I are packing a weekend bag and heading over as I type. We felt a very soft sway out here. It lasted a VERY LONG TIME. First thing I did was check on Kaji to see if he was even reacting to the quake. He was cuddled into my leg and did not notice.

| You must have been so scared. I was in a 6.4 in oregon a number of years ago. The water was sloshing out of the aquarium Strange thing, our dog actually starting acting weird a minute or so before it happened. She started walking around with her nose in the air like she was trying to sniff at something, going to the windows. Just very nervous acting. We have been having little small tremors here the last few days. I suppose from all the rain. And mudslides! Glad you and your family are all ok. |

| We actually heard it before it hit. It was weird!!! My brothers and I were watching tv and we all looked up at each other at the same time. One of us said, "earthquake?" then the house started to sway.

| I still remember my first earthquake, the 7.1 Hector Mine Quake. I was on the fifth floor of a dorm in the top bunk and I thought my roommate was having a bit of fun with himself. So I yelled for him to quit it, it was 3AM and I was trying to sleep. But he kept going for what seemed like another minute, so I jumped down thinking I was going to confront him and saw the bed empty and realized he had gone home for the weekend. At 3AM my brain didn't put two and two together, so I was shocked 4 hours later when I got breakfast and everyone was talking about a huge earthquake.

| Yeah, had that happen a few times where I'd be talking to someone and all of a sudden you hear a loud noise from the initial wave hitting the building, and then a couple of seconds later the next wave hits and you feel the swaying.

Bro 1: "The house is swaying" Me: "The house is just rocking back and forth." Bro 2: "Is it over yet?" Bro 1: "No not yet, still swaying." Me: "Doesn't feel too hard, I wonder what magnitude and how far away the epicenter is?" Bro 2: "I can't believe it's still going! The one from a few weeks ago was quick!" Me: "There, it stopped. I wonder if Kaji noticed?" *me looking down to my side" Kaji: *yawn!!!* *rolls on back asking for belly rubs* Me: "I guess not!"

| Jenny, I am so glad you and the pupsters are safe. 5.1 is nothing to sneeze at, and I can imagine how scared you were that it was the really big one coming! Quote:
