| Honey Baked ham and smoked turkey breast....rice dressing, corn bread dressing, brussles sprouts, fresh green beans and new potatoes, turnip greens and turnips, creamed corn, candied yams, cranberry-pineapple jello salad, brown and serve rolls, sweet potatoe pie, pumpkin dumpit cake, peach cobbler, Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream.....got everyone's favorites covered! I was disappointed I was not able to get my ham for Thanksgiving, from the people I buy my meat from, Zaycon. They have the best boneless hams I have ever put in my mouth, and everyone we had over last year, is buying them from Zaycon this year! I have ordered 3 this year...that will give me one for Christmas and one for Thanksgiving next year, and then again for Christmas..... |

| Going out for a steak. Our usual Thanksgiving spot is my uncle and aunt's house, but they have had a pretty rough year (she came within a quarter inch of dying back in July) so no big Thanksgiving this year.

| One of the greatest things about being in Texas. I love all the Blue Bell vanilla flavors, but Homemade Vanilla is far and away the best even though it's the cheaper gold rim. Though my absolute favorite Blue Bell flavor is probably Cherry Vanilla. I gotta write to them and beg them to make it a year-round flavor.

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I will be having a Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's home. So thankful for all our blessings and for all of you who come to Yorkietalk and support and pray. We are so blessed to know what the love of a dog is. Then to think the love that the Lord has for us is even greater. May we all have the peace and joy that comes with this beautiful season and always the love of the Yorkies in our home! |

Back at the end of June we were just hoping she'd live through the day to see her sister when she got in from Saint Louis. Her grandkids were amazing, staying with her and talking to her and helping her pull through when her docs were giving her a 100% chance of dying.

| Hmm. My boyfriend works 10-10 so I won't see him all day, and he's the only one I would be cooking for since my family is in SC and his is 5 hours away. I was invited to go to Houston to eat with my friend's family. I may go...they are traditional Mexican and I am not sure what they eat on that day. I am half Hispanic and its been ages since I ate anything my dad made...so I would be happy to go to my friend's if his parents wouldn't mind. I have been craving gravy and dressing sooo badly and since I was diagnosed with celiac I can't have either!!! Aaargh! Gotta find some gluten free recipes.

| I still go to my Mom's house for Thanksgiving. Nothing beats her menu. That reminds me, I need to call and find out what dish she wants me to bring this year. |

| I dont think anything is ever as good as "mommas" cooking....I do everything the exact same way my momma did, and I really do not enjoy any other style! I hate the taste of sage, so momma never used it in her dressing...I do not like dressingsa with sage in it. Momma and her momma and family were all from Abbeyville La....so we have eaten Cajun cooking all our lives.....with some adjustments....like rice dressing...momma never used liver in her rice dressing or dirty rice, because I hate liver of any kind, prepped in any way! So I dont use liver in our rice dressing....I just can not wait to sit down to all this wonderful food....I cook a HUGE pot of cornbread dressing and then we seal servings up in my Food Saver and eat on it all year long, plus send a bunch back with my brother.......we just had our last years Christmas cornbread dressing about 6 weeks ago...tasted just as good as if it was just made......I wish I could get the rice dressing to freeze...the texture of the rice changes and it is HORRIBLE!!! But the best investment I ever made is that Food Saver! |
