| 1950s styled outfit ideas? Okay, I found my Halloween costume It's a 1950s black and white movie actor. It involves painting all visible skin grey and using only shades of black and white makeup and clothes. It has to look like I am photo shopped in grayscale in a color world. Think film noir, think Pleasantville....anyone else LOVE that movie? That's where I got the idea! So I was having trouble getting my skin grey. I tried mixing black and white clown paint but it kept coming out blue-looking. Ditched that and got the palest foundation shade I could find and mixed in a little black powder pigment. It worked perfectly! Black lipstick, grey and black eye shadow, a little grey contouring and "blush"....top it off with a black wig. Still don't know what to wear though? I have tried googling 1950s style but it has to be in black, white and grey. Idk what to wear. I am gonna try mixing stuff from my closet with stuff from Goodwill. What specific kind of clothes should I look for to get that 1950s point across?

| Have you tried looking at HeartBreaker Fashion? They make vintage inspired clothes. I have quiet a few of their items. Wish we were neighbors, I'd let you borrow my black dress from them. All you need to add is the crinoline.

| see if you can find a full black skirt from good will or someplace and then pick up white cardigan sweater with pear buttons if you can find it, you could also add a small black chiffon scarf. you could also wear black peddle pushers/ capri's , the cardigan and white sneakers or those inexpensive slip on canvas shoes that you can normally find at KMart. That black and white dress would be perfect but I am not sure if you want to spend that much

| Sherry, the pics are very incriminating -- worse so, the videos.... the outfit did come out very cute though! I went with more of a 30s type deal..like a black and white silent film actress. I wore a black dress with quarter sleeves, some black and white gloves with a bow, pearls, grey stockings and a black curly pin-up styled wig .My wig was gone by the end of the night, never to return. LOL as were my gloves and my black lipstick. Fun fun night, next day, not so much!
