| Stolen Vehicle Has anyone ever had a vehicle stolen? To make a long story short, my bf's truck was stolen last night in the bar area of our city. He's filed a police report, I reported the incident to his insurance company, we have a watch on our bank account incase any bank information is in there, and he's now driving around looking for it. It's a yellow truck, which leads me to believe that whomever stole the truck isn't all that smart since that isn't exactly a subtle color. He knows the owner of the bar, and is going to talk to him later to see where the cameras in the bar are, and see if they can see the people's faces on the camera. The officer was quite surprised it was stolen since that is a pretty well-lit area and there are cops all over the place (for DWIs). However, a person with keys to a vehicle doesn't exactly look suspicious. All they had to do was push the "panic" button on his key chain to see to which vehicle the keys belong. We're having the locks changed on the house because they have his keys, and thankfully, my cousin and her husband (who own the house and live downstairs) are really good friends with the neighbors on either side so they know who should and shouldn't be around the house. My cousin talked to a family friend who is a former insurance agent and she said that car thefts rarely turn into break-ins. I really hope that whomever has the truck just dumps it somewhere tonight. I also really hope that whomever took it gets caught and goes to jail. My Christmas presents from his family are in there (including a $60 Best Buy gift certificate), his Sirius radio was in there, a non-factory CD player was in there, and some bigger speaker or sub-woofer or whatever it's called were in there- all of which aren't covered under his insurance. I'm so mad. Is there anything important that we should be doing but aren't? Uggghhh... what the heck is wrong with people today? |

| oh Susan, I am so sorry this happened. I have never had a car stolen but do know someone who has and it is very frustrating and scary. I really hope they find your BF's truck with everything intacked. It was a smart idea to change the locks!! There are crazy people out there. I hope you keep us informed and wish you guys luck. |

| We have had our truck broke into many times, with the last being the worst because they broke the window to get in it... you feel so violated when that happens, so I can't imagine how you must feel having the whole vehicle stollen. When that happened they stole the remote alarm system for our house (and they obviously knew where we lived since the truck was in the driveway) I was freaked out about this, now they could disable the alarm from the street. Eventually most of the stuff was recovered, but not the valuable stuff. (it was one of our company trucks.. loaded with tools, lazers ect) the way the kids were caught, was they were pulled over for speeding, and the cop flashed a light into the car and saw 3 baseball caps that had our company logo on them.... (when we reported the truck broken into we had given them our co. name)... that clued the cop in, the boys were arrested, and most of the stuff was returned to their owners. (several vehicles were broken into that night) Hopefully it turns up soon, with no damage done to it. |

| I am so very sorry! Fortunately, I have no experience with this, but wish you and your bf the best of luck in recovering the truck and everything in it. And most importantly, may they catch the creep who did it!

| My dad had his pickup stolen and it was recovered the next day- teenagers (ages 14&14) had stole it and beat it bad! There was a air tank in the back part and it dented the whole bed up, they hit lots of things. The insurance paid for the visual damage but did not nor will cover with anything engine when it dies from the 24 hour beating the truck took. It is sad, we all felt so violated and sick about it.....The kids only had to write a letter saying sorry and that was about it, they had like 30 days of probation- this was the second car they had stole! Isn't justice wonderful!

| Well, I am happy to say that the truck was found late this afternoon and my boyfriend is finally asleep after a 36+ hour day. There is no visible damage, but we're obviously having it looked at by a mechanic to make sure there is no unseen damage done. Jason (my bf) found it in 4 wheel drive with mud all over it, so who knows what these idiots were up to. I think it's pretty obvious that we didn't have the most intelligent people stealing the truck- as I mentioned, it's yellow; they didn't look in the center console of the truck (money was sitting right on top of it- visible as soon as you open it up); and they didn't look in the glove compartment or at least didn't grab his RayBan sunglasses. They stole his Sirius thing, the front to his CD player, his radar detector, and all of my Christmas presents from his parents in the back. Jason's mom found me the cutest yorkie throw, which is in the house, but there was the cutest matching pillow that they took. Tell me who the heck is looking for a "hot" yorkie pillow?! I didn't tell him soon enough to not tell his parents that their gifts were stollen. Jason said they feel bad for me, but I feel just awful that everything was in there. We've had the most hectic couple of weeks and were leaving the stuff in there until Jason had time to haul everything in and clean his truck today. Minniemn- you are so right- I just feel violated. I was cleaning the truck up and felt gross touching everything. I think I'll go in there with my Lysol Disinfecting Spray tomorrow. I may have to use the carpet cleaner on the seats before I'm willing to sit in there. I am so mad that these creeps are going to profit off of things we or our family bought with their hard-earned money. I really hope they catch these creeps. I guess I just have to think that eventually they'll get what's coming to them. And may I just add that I hope no one ever has to deal with the customer service at Sirius- I've been on hold for 33 minutes (and counting) to report our unit stolen and deactivate it. This has been a LONG day! |

| I had mine stolen! Right out of my garage while I was sleeping! I left the garage door open and they came inside my house! Took the keys off the counter and bailed with my car! My children were sleeping as were my husband and I! Thank god they just took the car and did not harm any of us! They found my car two weeks later! Bashed up and dirty as hell! Milk shake spilled all over and used maxie pads in the back seat! Ugh! Gross! I wish they had not found it! The underside was banged up real bad, they had taken it off roading! It was a fricken Masada Protoge! 4 door, sun roof... moms car! Not a truck! And worse part... my crutches were in there... I had a broken foot! Nice of the to take those! Jerks... we never did find them. It sucks... but eventually you let go and realize that worse things could have happened... thank god they did not come to your home!
