Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Man! I got bit by a tree ant this morning & it HURTS This morning while patrolling the yard for nuisance mushrooms, I was bit by a daggone tree ant. I swell up bad, the whole area gets hot to the touch & the muscles beneath the bite ache. Anyone else have reactions like this? Here's Ortho's link so you can see what they look like. There's some good info on the page too! Carpenter Ant Bites: Identify & Treat Bites from Carpenter Ants

| Ouch! So sorry! I was just complaining to my boss lady about how I keep battling those little sugar ants..in my house 2 times already..now, in my new car. Grrr But that is nothing compared to being bitten. I will quit complaining lol Hope it feels better soon! I've never had a severe reaction like that. Did you try taking some benadryl?

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Took Benadryl right away. Also used bleach on the bite it's self; they say that helps neutralize the venom, but not in my case! I can't imagine one of my pups getting bit by one of these suckers! It's weird how it has made the muscles sore.

| Ooooh! Sorry to hear this! Try using some mud or a baking soda paste, as it dries it will draw the venom out. Good on bee stings too.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Well, it's so swollen & sore now that I can hardly use my right hand without wanting to cry. Unbelievable! I've been bitten before but never on the forearm, they usually get me on the top part of my arm or my leg. (They fall from the oak tree in the back yard!) The 5th I tried to hack my left thumb off with a Miracle blade knife while cutting watermelon.

| Sherry, Those tree ants look like nasty little critters! I hope the benadryl works for you and you're are able to rest this evening. Praying you'll feel better tomorrow. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Ok, I found the exact ant that bit me. New Page 1 I've always just called it a tree ant; who knew there were SO many species? I have seen others bitten & I react the worst I've seen.

| Wow! and yuck! I've been bitten a few times in my life by something really bad, but I've never seen what it was that bit me. Most recently was a bite on my lower leg. It swelled up very big and totally make my muscle sore. It was hard to go down the stairs. Then after it's almost gone, and the pain goes away, the itch comes back again for another F you! Hate that! Hope you feel better soon!
