| Cat adopts baby ducklings The thread about Jack being so gentle with the baby bird reminded me of this story - I've posted the videos below. The owners, living in Co. Offaly Ireland, noticed their duckings were missing and assumed the worst. They were shocked when they realised their cat was feeding them alongside her own kittens. Day 6 |

| That's crazy! Maternal instincts...I love hearing about these cross-species mothering experiences. Funny - she can't comprehend WHY they won't stay with the kitty pile! LOL

When I was a teenager we had a very tiny kitten that my little terrier Kerry adopted. Garfield used to snuggle with Kerry and he grew up firmly believing Kerry was his mother, he also believed he was a dog! I never heard him meow and he rarely purred. Instead he growled and barked - well a cat's attempt at growling and barking, it was so funny to hear LOL

| What an adorable story. It was funny how she kept trying to wrangle the one duckling into the kitten pile.

| I had no idea ducks had the capability or the need to suck milk from a nipple! I thought ducks pecked about on the ground or grass, eating bugs and stuff! |

What I think is that the cat was attempting to feed them and they were happy to snuggle up with her and the kittens but I seriously doubt they were feeding from her, they're pretty unusual if they were! I think it's adorable though how the cat adopted them and wanted to care for them instead of eating the 3 little guys!
