advice please, I am having alot of people over for christmas and I have a terrible cold. I have tried for 2 days to get rid of it. Any suggestions on a fast remedy?

I have been eating oranges, and drinking Orange Juice...I know that have this stuff called cold remedy...Try to sweat it out tonight....Vicks rapor rub, and a lot of blankets....Good Luck, I hope you feel better!

I dont know about walmart but they have it at Walgreens.

I dont have a walgreens..ill go check it out tonight. I have to buy my daycare kids some Christmas presents so ill check than..

If you can start Zicam at the first sign of a cold, it really does help a lot! I also suck zinc lozenges between zicam doses - zinc helps also. If you already have a raging cold, then Zicam may not help much - but it's worth a try.

If you do have a cold and you are going to have others in your house, then carry around a bottle of Purel or some sort of instant hand sanitizer that is at least 60% ethyl alcohol. It will kill all cold virus that gets on your hands, thus preventing or minimizing the spead of the virus to others in your house. It is much better than antibacterial soap and can be used before you handle food, dishes, etc.

What's Vicks rapor rub? That sounds interesting.

I've been taking Zicam all week and started adding the decongestants last night. There's no wonder that flu and colds spread like wildfire after Christmas.

I use Zicam too and it seems to stop the cold dead in it's tracks from getting any worse. WalMart does carry Zicam. Anybody ever use Airborne? I don't know if this is the correct spelling. I think it's something similar to Zicam.

I have used Zicam in the past and it does work, HOWEVER, I lost some sense of smell for a few months after using the nasal swabs. That was really weird. I used "airborne" last time, and my cold was gone in 3 days. Also 1000mg vitamin c at first sign of a cold, then repeat 3 times a day till you are better.

We are all so sick here as well. We seem to keep passing it back to one another. My daughters teacher told me to get some Airborne. She has not gotten sick in 4 years of teaching third grade. I am going out and getting some! I hope it will stop from passing it to one another. We been sick here for a month and a half here. We've been using vick's and taking our meds. Rubbing vick's on chest and feet works well. I just wish it kept us from getting it again and passing it to eachother!

Actually, I loose my sense of taste for about 2 hours after I use the Zicam, but I consider that a plus..

sort of like a mini diet !!!
