Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Pre op So tomorrow I go in for pre op. It is a whole day affair. I am not looking forward to it. I wish I can take my little Buggie with me. It will make the day go better.

| So, this isn't done on the day of surgery, I take it. Praying it all goes smoothly for you and you are back with Galen soon! When is your surgery?

| I talked to Teri and her surgery is next week, I think on Thursday. She said it will be a 12 week recovery that sounds so long but based on the pain she has it will be worth it. I guess on the upside that means she will double her post counts to about 50 per day

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Hi all. Thank you very much for your well wishes. I was waiting to talk to the Dr. He had to call me. Basically from the CT scan. There is much more degeneration of the joints and a shift of the vertebrae then first saw. I might have to get fusion. He will not know until he gets in there. I am a little upset about it. I go from 12 weeks recovery to 6 month minimum recovery. And a whole other bunch of stuff. I really don't want to do the fusion but I may not have a choice. My surgery is on April 16. I find out what time the night before.

| Oh no. I'm so sorry to hear that is worse than thought, Teri. I know people who have had back surgeries and one who did the fusion. Her fusion was upper back/neck area though. She recovered in a couple of months. The others that have had back surgery always tell me that if they had it to do over again, they wouldn't have. Not an easy decision to make. Either way, you are in pain and dealing with a lot. Praying for you in making a decision and if you have the fusion, that it goes well!

| Teri, sorry to hear that you have to endure such a long recovery period. Praying for you for a successful surgery.

| Sadly I know all too well what its like having surgery. I am scheduling the next surgery on May 30th for the last of the work I need on my feet. That will be my 21st surgery (should be some sort of points reward program for people like me lol). So I speak from lots of experience Remember to be good to yourself, take all the time you need to heal and although I find it hard to do, dont rush. Its really really hard to deal with a long recovery period and its easy to push yourself in an effort to speed things along. Six months is a long haul, rely on your friends and loved ones and I found it was helpful to have my laptop so that I still felt like I was "getting out there" even it was only online lol. Sorry to hear that your surgery will be more complicated than expected I can imagine how disappointed you must be. I hope everything goes as well as can be and that your feeling better as soon as possible. Take care
