| Question for Travelers the DH and I will be staying in a condo for 7 nights at Whistler ski resort in Canada. The condo does not change your towels once the whole time you are there. If I want fresh towels I either have to pay a $65.00 fee or wash them at the laundry facility somewhere on the grounds of the condo. I am not sure how many they give you. While I don't expect daily maid service or really any maid service at all I don't think it is unreasonable to expect some fresh towels during a 7 night stay. While on a ski trip it is not unusual to take two showers a day so that adds to the use. The condo is about a 3.5 to 4 star type of place, it's reasonably priced but not cheap. When I told the guy that all the condos I ever stayed in at least gave you clean towels one or more times during out stay he sent me the response I quoted in blue. Frankly it pisses me off when I referred only to condos in my emails yet he comes back to me talking about hotels. We have rented for 15 years and never once had a complaint regarding towels or linens changing once weekly. This is standard. Comparable hotels change daily and charge more per night accordingly.

| Since I like big bath blankets, I would probably take 2 with me in order to have enough to use while the condo towels were drying between baths or being washed. I usually take at least 1 extra towel with me on vaca anyway...

| if we were driving I would do that but we are flying. with the weight restrictions on luggage being 40 lbs this is very hard to do with heavy ski clothes. The problem with skiing is you never know what to expect it could be cold and snowing one day so that requires one type of gear the next could be sunny and you need light weight stuff, trying to pack light for a ski trip is very challenging. LOL when I was younger and went as a single girl I would take at least three different ski outfits, now with the DH it is a black pair of ski pants and one ski jacket and one pair of after ski boots no high heels, just the basics and we normally do laundry so I might have to give in and throw in a few towels.

| Never once had a complaint? Ha! I hardly doubt that! Are you renting a car to drive there or just taking a taxi/shuttle? If you're renting, you can easily just pick up some towels once you get there and leave them behind/to friends you make after you leave. If not, I would just bring extra quarters. :/

| We just rented a Condo in Florida for a week , we had plenty of towels but the expectation was if we wanted clean we washed them ourself (note there was a very nice stackable washer and dryer in the unit). We had very good luck this time, there was plenty of dish detergent, trash bags and even spices in the Condo. The one thing that shocked me was they wanted to charge us an additional $25.00 per day to heat the Hot Tub.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I hate there reply, and obviously customer service isn't their thing. I can't believe they would charge you $65.00 for clean towels. It would be cheaper to go into town and buy some! Here's an idea, have Target send some to you at the hotel and just leave them there. http://www.target.com/p/threshold-ba...i_sku=14140698

| the thing about new towels is they don't seem absorbent unless they are washed at least once, I always wondered why that was. I solved my problem, typical of my husband, he just shrugs and does not want to discuss this or comment on anything I question. So he will get one towel and I will lay claim to the rest on them

Even my last trip to NY with Lola had me close to the limit and I leave a lot of the heavy stuff at my parents house, but LOL I did pack a lot of outfits, jewelry and grooming products for Lola so that is probably what did it

| probably, I have a box of powder for when I travel so I just put some in a plastic baggie along with a few dryer sheets. I know I must sound like a wuss but I was just curious to see what other people thought.

| Check in the travel size items in the drug store. I have several 1 load sized pouches of detergent. Each one is slightly bigger than a teabag. I can't remember where I got them, have had for years, but keep them in my suitcase for emergencies, like if I had to wash stuff in a sink or a laundromat. That would be lighter and less potential mess than a Ziploc of powder. I like the idea of picking up towels there. I find if you get the rougher, less plushy towels, (like thin $5 beach towels) they absorb better before washing.

| Yeah, I think since you know going into this that they will not change your towels, I would bring extra towels with you and just bring them home to wash them. 7 days of 2 showers a day does seem a lot of uses before washing. I do own a timeshare condo though and they don't give us new towels either, we have to either bring more of our own, or wash them at the laundry facilities there ourselves. I think the idea is they PROVIDE towels.
