| Remote Tek? I know some have used this service to fix their computers. How long does it usually take for someone to get back to you? I started a support request ticket early this morning and still haven't heard back yet I am thinking of finding someone else, if they're so busy that they can't get to me for a long time. I need this fixed right away! Anyone know any other services like this one?

| I just use the big companys' support such as Microsoft & Norton, Sony, etc., and they are usually available after a bit of a phone wait. Occasionally one will make an appt. to call you back w/in the hour or something but have never had to wait all day. Can you call your antivirus support and let them handle it?

| Wow. Here I am into the next week with only a lame excuse response from someone named Matt, stating that he's been ill and etc. I hope he's okay, but if he was too sick to help me, he should have just said so. I am still having problems with this stupid thing and it's only getting worse. Living in safe mode just to get by for now. I am so disappointed! I am scared to death to try one of the other companies that comes up on Google, they all seem to want a monthly subscription of some sort. I am afraid to give remote access to just anyone, they could really exploit that if they aren't legit. I was so happy to have a personal recommendation from a member here, but now this guy isn't getting back to me! He offered me a tune-up free of charge, and now has gone silent I don't know what to do now. There was only a 6 month warranty on this thing and it's been since Christmas. I don't even want to bother with Comcrap, their "security" software is what got me here and the hold times are unbelieveable! I just want to pay someone to fix it for me Poop!

| What don't you go online & buy the Norton Internet Security package (it's like $60 or so to start, cheaper subsequent years), download it, run a scan and their support will help you. It'll cost some money to buy this antivirus package but you will have that protection for the next year & then can resubscribe. I'm on all kinds of sites all the time & this package has kept me safe without Malwarebytes or anything. Regular Norton Anti-virus isn't as robust a protection as their Internet Security package. They will work with you until you are up and running and trojan bug free.

| Plus, it's possible that the Norton could find, quarantine the trojan so that it can't re-initiate and you won't need further help. I learned the hard way that getting a robust internet security program is well worth it. My old PC was wiped out, a techie friend of my son's got it back up, the virus/trojan quarantined and he suggested the Norton Internet Security to keep me going. So did the guy at the electronics store where I bought my new computer a year later. Both guys & my son have said regular antivirus programs are not so effective these days.

| Funny thing is that I HAD the norton on my computer, the suite from Xfinity (Comcast) I am on eternal hold with them right now. My poor daughter has been trying to do schoolwork on her laptop and it's impossible The viruse gets quarantined, then it starts again and it's now deleted ALL security related software from my machine. VERY nasty bug, ugh! I don't trust Xfinity at all now, which is why I wanted Matt to fix this for me, then I would use a better security suite. Zone Alarm firewall has never let me down in the past, and they now have anti virus as well.

| I understand your frustration with Matt, but I still think you should use him. I used his services before and he's very efficient. Comcast employees are not going to be able to walk you through fixing your machine if you have a nasty virus already infecting it.

| I sure hope he can get connected to your computer and once he does, I know he will get it fixed for you. If anyone can do it, Matt can. Good luck!

| Just an update: Matt was not able to connect to my computer, that is how bad things were. We did a complete system recovery (started over) and then he was able to connect and set me up. We lost a few things, but nothing super important. Matt spent the ENTIRE day on the phone with me, walking me through each step. He was very patient and didn't make me feel stupid at any time. I had no idea that he does this in addition to his full time job, and being a family man, or I would not have been so impatient. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone

| I'm so glad Matt was able to help you! Do you know what virus you had? The last time he fixed mine, I thought it was a terrible virus, but it was a corrupt user profile. I was lucky I had carbonite, so I didn't lose anything.

| Boy, you had a bad one! I hope and pray I don't see that thing that you had. I'm glad Matt worked out for you. I'm going to keep his website bookmarked just in case I need him in the future.

| I didn't think to ask him what virus it was. It was nasty, it deleted all my security software and messed things up so badly that we couldn't install the software for him to connect. It would only run in safe mode and you can't install most software then. He spent the ENTIRE day helping me. We finally had to redo everything back to factory settings and I lost a lot of stuff but oh well! Definitely bookmarking his site so I don't forget it (not likely )
