| Can't a girl get a break...... I get a call from an ex-coworker from my last job. We became friends during the time we worked together, but he quit before that lay off happen and we stayed in touch. Anyway. He has a position at another company and tells me one of the clients his company works for is hiring and he passed my resume to them, so be ready for a call. Well they call me ten minutes later and it went very well. It was an awesome opportunity with much better pay than my last job and also work from home. She had me down to start training on August 6th... I was so excited and relieved. Well guess what. It was all good until she found out I live California. They don't hire in California. My ex-coworker felt really bad. I told him don't and I was beyond appreciative that he would pass my resume to them and to please do it again if anything else came along. What a bummer though. |

| It seems the companies who only hire certain companies that Ca. is always included in that list of states that is not one. Probably because Ca taxes the he** out of anything it gets its hands on. Yeah great weather, but expensive to live and can't even get hired because of it. |

| My dad is in Alabama right now...He's considering staying and living there and told me I could come if I wanted. I'm scared Alabama's weather would be too much for me but tempted to go and "mosey" my way to Flordia from there. Hey then I could visit you Karen. |

| If I'm ever in town I defiantly will. We could hit the town Florida style. That would be fun though. |

| Opinion needed on this issue.... Would it be weird of me to email that lady who interviewed me and ask her why they wont hire in Ca? This isn't the first time its happened and I'm dying to know.. Google didn't give me any answers either. I'm just not sure if it would be appropriate to email her after the fact to ask her. |

I'm sorry about your job situation.Seems like getting salt rubbed into the wound when companies are afraid to hire in your state.

| I'd ask! Why does California tax companies wanting to hire its citizens????????? That seems counterproductive!

And I don't know that to be a fact as to why. But what other reason could it possibly be. Has to have something to do with taxes. The only thing that makes sense.
