| bad neighbors We have a firework ban because its been so dry here. I told you though we would have neighors that still do it and we did. Anyway a grass fire started in our neighbors yard and they were hitting our house so our neighbor called the police. The police didnt do aything and witessed first had they had fireworks because they were going off when they pulled up. m y Husband talked to the police. they did say if that they said to the they are going to come to our corner and shoot the off today because they think the ban will be lifted but it is not. The police said if that happened to call them. After the police left they were calling us foul names and threatenig to beat up people for calling the police. now they have been going all around telling they are going to come down to our corner ad setting the off in our corner and aiming them at our house and they hope our house burns down. We are going to video tape the and call the police and press charges for harrassmet, The one lady that is doing it is also a neighorhood assoc. lady so we are going to the next neighorhood association meeting and taknig the video tape and exposing her for who she is . Any other ideas of what we could do?

| Wow, this is beyond harassment, it sounds like they are threatening criminal activity. I'd keep calling the police - you don't have to put up with this nonsense.

| In addition to always videoing anything out of the ordinary for the record, I believe I would transfer your OP to a letter to the Mayor and copy your Chief of Police. Tell them you are harassed and fearful and need some help defusing the situation & keeping your home safe. Send it Certified Mail, RRR to both parties. Might want to copy all the neighbors. Or sit quietly & wait to see if the alcohol & high spirits have worn off & they calm down & leave you alone from now on.

Can I say how thrilled I am that I've lived in my current home for nearly 2 years am have only officially met one of my neighbors? We might vaguely wave at them if we see them when we're outside, but that's really the extent of our relationships. It's freakin' awesome. I never hear a peep from anyone. This may be because a cop lives just down the street, but I'll take the peace either way. I'm really sorry you're going through this. I know from previous experience how stressful it is dealing with horrible neighbors. And this is definitely beyond harrassment and has crossed the line into threats at this point. Please follow up with the police. I hope this gets resolved quickly!

| That is a criminal threat. You should call the police again and file a report with them. Do not accept it if the police tell you that you do not have that right. You do. It is then up to the District Attorney or County Attorney (whatever they are called in your jurisdiction) to decide whether or not charges will be filed.

| I live directly across the street from the Mayor. When I bought my house 2 years ago, I had so much trouble with my neighbors. In a way, I still do, but I have a tendency to get back at them in my own little way (I'll tell that story later). Trust me, a little chat with him and all my problems seemed to come down to a bearable level. My neighbors still hate me, but they pretty much leave me alone now. Though, what I did to them last July 4th, I can't say I blame them!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | So sorry you are going through this. I can't believe the neighborhood association lady is involved in this, what a way to set an example. The only other thing I can think of is ask any neighbors to sign a statement as to what they witnessed, but I'm not sure if that's necessary if you have a tape. Best of luck in pursuing this, it sound like someone had too much to drink!

| I feel sorry for you....welcome to MY world!! I live on a cul-de-sac, next door to a cop. His kids are juvinile deliquents, with rap sheets a mile long. They run completely rough shod over the entire area, and NO one says anything about it because they will retalliate on anyone that they think has reported them or said anything against them. I have had my car windows shot out, I have had my pick-up truck (that I had parked in front of my home in order to keep these neighbors' kid's thuggy friends from parking in front of my house, throwing beer bottles and fast food garbage in my front yard) deliberately backed into by the oldest son's POS car....I have had poison meatballs thrown into my back yard for my babies to get into, I have had FISH HOOKS thrown into my back yard for my babies to get into...I have had my garden hoses slashed where they are coiled up at the faucets down that side of my house....I have had my flower bed, that was so pretty with my azaleas, my beautiful dwarf purple crep myrtle trees, and my clumps of spider lillies, all poisoned....they put something in my flower bed all down that side of my home and killed everything.....and there is NOTHING that can be done....I guess I could catch them on video and turn that in, but I am terrified they will deliberately burn my home down....the oldest boy has been convicted and did a short stint in jail for setting a neighborhood elementry school on fire.....I keep praying God removes them from my life.....meanwhile, I have laser alarms all over my BACK yard, and my yard is under video surveillance...NOT the front yard, because if I get THEIR property on any tape, that is an invasion of THEIR privacy.....good luck with YOUR battle.... |

I've seen video surveillance shots on TV that show others' property in it besides that of the homeowner many times - even a ways down the block. Does your area of Houston or HOA have a law that prevents video surveillance that exceeds your property line or something? What has the cop's Chief of Police told you to do to keep from being a home-arson victim of one of his officers' children?
