YT 1000 Club Member | Animal Planet I work from home and often will leave the TV on Animal Planet (Romeo loves to watch). Currently Animal Cops Houston is on and what I see makes me sick! How can anyone let a dog become so matted that green moss is growing all over the pup and the poor thing cannot even walk?! I really hope there's a place and just punishment for people who are cruel to ANY animal...

| i cry watching that show somedays....... i think when they show the hoarding breeders is the worst...makes my stomach sick just thinking of the conditions those babies are in. There was one where a chimpanze was was confined to a cage and his owner fed him cigarette butts and soda and he pretty much lived in a dark dirty environment. he was so unhealthy but a few months after being rescued and eating properly and playing his skin looked so much better. really sad what us humans do to these powerless babies.

| I'm watching that as I type this! That POOR DOGGY. I was sick to my stomach. A 9 pound dog with 4 lbs of matting. I pray this baby's heartworm was taken care of and their "owner" should be prosecuted for this.

| I used to watch the animal rescue shows as I loved to see the dogs finally get good vet care, get well for the most part and find homes. Once that channel went HD & I got a new HDTV with extra large screen, I can no longer watch those shows. They show too much detail that my old big screen on the old analog channel didn't reveal. But I loved the stories of those starving, diseased or injured dogs getting fattened up, happy and well! And the dungeon is too good for the people that hurt & allow their dogs to starve & suffer as they do on those shows!!!

| I watch the same show and believe me there is a special place in hell for those who mistreat animals. My hat if off to those on the show, they do a wonderful job under the most difficult of situations. |

| The matted shi tzu turned out so well!!! It made me cry to see him a happy, healthy dog getting loved on by the rescue group. Oh my. It truly touches my heart. I've had the idea in the back of my head that someday I want to be a foster mom, but now more than ever I really want to. As soon as we have a more permanent home than these college apartments, and I have financial security, we will definitely look into fostering.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I'm glad people are watching these shows, it's important to realize that abuse takes place with pet owners and breeders. It's so hard to believe that some people need to see it for themselves before they believe it. A show that got me was dog fighting. If a dog is all cut up an owner just denies he owns it, so the dog is taken to the pound. I wish there was more we could do to stop this.

YT 1000 Club Member | On one episode the cops seized several large dogs because someone decided to crop the dogs ears themselves!!! The fools then put some antibiotic they got at a local pharmacy and the poor dogs were a mess and ears infected. The things I want to do to humans who make animals suffer.....!!!!!

| I finally had to just stop watching those shows as they were getting to me far too much. Stories like that - I would think about those dogs & the pain & bleeding involved when some masochist takes a knife to his dogs' ears & couldn't eat the rest of the day & wished very bad things on the person that did that & things like that. I'm way overly sensitive to animal suffering & have no - zero - ability to keep it in any perspective anymore.
