2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Beware: E-mails embedded w/ Trogon Horse Viruses. Per my computer tech: Jason, MSN, Yahoo, Gmail and others were hacked into some time within the past few months. They were hacked into and e-mail accounts were stollen. The hackers have sent out e-mails using both anonymous e-mial accounts and some that may be know to you. These are extremely High viruses like (trogon horses) one of the worse kind there is. This type of virus will take over you entire computer and spread like a wild fire with in a madder of minuets rendering your computer useless. Unfortunately I found this out the hard way.... I had been getting all sorts of emails from other yahoo addresses with a bunch of nonsense like symbols and stuff and nothing else. I would get three to four of them a day. I'd delete them and the following day get three or four more. This has gone on now for the past two weeks. I found out from Jason that just by clicking on it to block the sender is allowing access to my computer and letting the virus in. Well it did.... luckily my virus protection caught it before it could do serious harm to my computer, This time. This isn't the first time I or someone in my home visited a site and downloaded a severe virus. The only difference is that it was "intentional" it was sent to my e mail account !! According to my tech the emails can be from an unknown sender and from peoples e-mail address/accounts that you know. So, I want to make sure that everyone was aware and is being very careful when opening their emails. I wish I knew more so that I could pass on the information to you all. Beware: E-mails embedded w/ Trogon Horse Viruses.

| I do not understand how these people get their jollies by spreading a virus!! Grrrrrr!!!! So you don't click on block, what should you do? Just delete? Thanks for sharing this with us. I will pass the information on as well.

| That is awful - glad your virus protection caught it. Does the tech say what we are we to do? Not open email from known senders? Looks like that is the only way of staying completely safe!

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Well I use Incredimail so he said to shut off the preview pane/screen option under "view". Than to select the "delete all" box and than to un chuck the e-mails you know are secure and than delete or block everythingelse. Which is something that I already do. As far as receiving e-mails from know addresses like friends, I'm not sure how I would handle that. I guess if it is important they would call me. Usually if a friend is sending me an e-mail it is only for a chain mail or jokes. So, I usually end up deleting those anyways. Important: Check all of your accounts... I have #4 e-mail accounts: a RR, 2 yahoo accounts and a MSN / hotmail account. I checked them this morning and they all had simular emails. I went on a delete frenzy!! I pretty much deleted every single e-mail that I had. A lot of them were sexual type things. I did recognize several from the same people that sent me the trogon horses at my primary Incredimail account.

| Thank goodness I haven't been in my email for quite some time so probably can just delete everything and start all over anyway. This thing sounds pretty serious.

| Why am I continually getting notices that emails I sent were invalid? Especially when I haven't actually SENT any emails to these people. I feel like someone has hacked my personal email OR I have a virus. I run an anti-virus program but . . am worried.

Sounds very possible, just to be safe, If you log in with a password I would change it. That useuly takes care of that type of stuff.

| When a virus attacked my computer and shut it down so I could not get it restarted even with a CD boot-up - and I had Norton Antivirus(just basic program) at the time - my son's IT tech at work downloaded free Malwarebytes from CD Net or CNet - can't recall what site called. So as long as I had that computer, I ran both Norton and Malwarebytes. Then when I got this computer, I purchased a more robust Internet protection antivirus package from Norton. If you are getting these kind of email notices when you have sent none, you might look into getting some additional type of antivirus/firewall, etc., protection. Course I know even then you can get virus but might try it.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | My computer tech Jason has installed these three free virus protection on my computer: Malwarebytes/Anti-Malware: Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download Spy Bot Search and Destroy: The home of Spybot-S&D! Avast Antivirus: avast! Free Antivirus | Download Antivirus Protection Software These are all programs that I must run and maintain myself. They should be ran every other week or anytime I get an alert from Avast or I suspect a virus. They can not be downloaded if you already have another type of virus protection like Nortons. Nortons and Avast override the other. Jason says Nortons is not the best but nothing truly is 100%. He took Nortons out and replaces it with these others. If you are having difficulty with your software not catching viruses it may be time for a change. Talk to a computer repair man and get some advise on what to use that may be better at stopping those viruses.
