| This woman leaves her 3 small children in the car!!! I go to Kmart with my 17 yr old daughter today and as we are walking out to our car a woman stops us and tells us that in the car that is facing mine in the parking lot there are 3 children. UNATTENDED!!! WHAT??? Yup a baby, 6mo or so in a car seat ...a 5 year old girl...and 3 year old boy. I couldn't believe my eyes. These babies were left in this car for over an hour. Apparently there was a woman on her break from k mart and she saw the children in the car. So she knew how long they were out there. Why SHE didn't call the police was beyond me. Anyway I immediatly call 911 and tell dispatch the situation. I gave her the license plate and the model of the car. So now we wait...and wait which seemed like forever. All of a sudden this woman comes out of kmart and proceeds to get into the car. The woman that first stopped me asked her about the kids and she said that she left her son in the car with them...LIE.. then she says, "its none of your business and to butt out" . We wait for the officer to come and then tell him the story. What could he do??? She was gone!!! After thought is we should have blocked her in with our cars so she couldn't leave. She left the windows half way down for air. In the meantime I could have easily reached into the car and opened the door and took those kids. I told the officer that I wouldn't even leave my dog in the car much less children. I am very shaken up and very upset. I just don't understand how someone calls themselves a mother and does something this stupid.

| I think the mother is dead wrong and she, of course, knows it. Unattended children are in danger and it is everyone's business to get involved!

| People leave their passports and valuables locked away safely in a safe...and yet leave their most precious possessions alone, in a car, with a half-opened window? I often wonder what's going on in this world....I must admit, a certain English family (no, of course not us!) on holiday in Portugal, leaving their 3 babies alone in an apartment springs to mind..... | Oh...that's makes me just cringe to think of what could have happened to these sweet children. I wish the police would have made it in time...it should have been their priority. Bless their little hearts

| The little girl was just the sweetest little thing. The boy was shy and didn't want to talk. If that first woman that was on her break would have called the police way before I got out there they would have caught her. I just say WHY wouldn't you call the police????? She just sat in her car!! I didn't hesitate for a second. Those kids were in danger ...isn't that enough reason to call the police?? She didn't have to leave her name or anything..I just don't understand. I know this wasn't the first time she did this. I mean it wasn't like going to a convenience store and leaving them in there?? Which I also don't condone. This idiot was shopping in K-mart for an hour!!! I hardly slept last night I was still upset about this whole thing. I only wish I would have thought to block her in so she couldnt leave. Freakin police just took so long to get there. Maybe I should have called the fire department. I don't know. I just keep thinking I could have done more. Maybe I should have taken those kids out of the car myself and brought them to the police station myself. I would have loved to see her face when she came out and her children were gone!!!

| some people should not be allowed to have children. that there is a horrible thing...like you said if someone wanted those children or one of those children well they wouldve taken them. i hope you scared her a bit to not do that again. selfish parents suck.

Did there happen to be CCTV in the car park? (I'm grasping at straws here!!). Do you think it might be worth a trip back there same time/same place next week? Sorry you're going through such emotional h**l, when all you were doing was trying to protect 3 very small children. Sally x | |

| I had to run out and do some errands and everytime I got out of my car I looked in all the cars around me to see if any other idiot left their kids in the car. I did find a dog in someones car. A cute bigger terrier type. He was barking. Poor guy. Thank goodness at least the windows were cracked about half way down. I don't even leave my purse in the car and these fools are leaving children and dogs.!!!
