| Carolling - Is it Extinct?? Ok, I just had the two most adorable carolers -- maybe 6 & 9 year old boys -- that sang me "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"; I gave them each a dollar. I have never had carolers before, so I didn't know how much to give! Does anyone take their kids carolling? Does anyone get carolers??

| Wow...how sweet! I used to see carolers when I lived in Minnesota but since I have been in AZ it's been NADA. With the weather you would think it would be just the opposite. I don't think with all of the school programs that caroling is that common anymore so it will be interesting to see how things are in other areas of the country.

| I know that alot of schools no longer teach carols, simply because they are a religous thing, and many people feel that by teaching them those carols are promoting a certain relgion, which in my opinion is very sad! Same thing with them not allowing them to call a Christmas tree a christmas tree. Now it has to be called a holiday tree. I think the traditions which were once loved by sooo many will be NONEXISTANT in just a few short years, just because a few people don't believe in it. I used to go carolling all the time as a child, but around here anymore, it doesn't happen. Very sad in my opinion. I would love to see carollers. But how sweet that you got sang to!!! Very very sweet!!!!!

| We live in a small community and we usually get a group of carolers that come almost every year. When I was a kid we used to do it often, we would go to hospitals and nursing homes too. It was always lots of fun and sure made the season bright!

| I think it's extinct around here. It's a shame. We used to go out every year when I was a kid. People would give us money or treats. We weren't the best singers so they might have been paying us to go away. It was so much fun.

| I haven't see any carolers here in NYC. I use to go carolling in Puerto Rico, what is called " Parrandas".I have great memories. We didnt get money, instead we were invited inside and offer food and drinks. |
