YT 1000 Club Member | Who should get custody of the furbaby? This is one interesting custody battle and a must read. Two ex-lovers battled over a dog named Bubkas*and one of them wound up with bupkis* - NY Daily News

| Doesn't seem to be much of a custody issue...as the article clearly states the guy's parents gifted him the puppy.

| My ex & I had a pup when we broke up, I wanted the pup but he loved the pup too. It was our first Yorkie, he was 5 months old. We named him Stuart and we both loved him to pieces. But when we split, it was not even a question, I got the pup. I can't imagine having to fight over a dog during a breakup esp to take it to court, but I think I would have fought tooth & nail to keep Stuart with me if it had to come to that.

| It is common knowledge around here that Sophie Kate and Avery are MINE!!! It something were to happen they come with me, yes I know they are mutually loved but there are some things I am not willing to split. I would split the house, retirement funds, savings, furniture but the dog and the cat are coming with me and I MIGHT (just might) send an picture of them at Christmas.

YT 1000 Club Member | I saw one of my neighbors go through this when he and his gf broke up. Of course he let her have pup but it broke his heart because he loved the little guy too! The gf was kind enough though to bring the pup around for "visits".

| I would expect visits! However, it's hard to be around an ex sometimes. I'm only friends with one ex and I'm 38. I think it's because she lives in NYC that my current allows it. I would probably offer to take care of his vet stuff and all that if needed to keep my foot in the door. However! I don't plan on not being together, but I can't predict the future! I just know I would hate to not see him anymore and so would ChiChi. He would be heartbroken.

| Even though ex-boy LOVES Levi very much and still to this day would do anything for him, there is no question that little man is my pup! Levi has visited the ex a couple of times, but he's definitely mama's boy.

YT 1000 Club Member | Reading this made me smile. Fortunately it's just my daughters and me with Romeo and they've both said when they "grow up" and move out they're taking him! I know they were only teasing me because they know Romeo belongs to me and only me :-)

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Interesting. With two large dogs, one small, and one cat. Is one more animal I could comfortably care for, if hubby and I were to split. But I do know which animal I would reluctantly allow to leave with him. We would not split 50/50 on our animals. lol

| All 3 of their AKC ownership papers are in my name, solely. They are my dogs, I take care of them, bathe them, feed them, clean up their pee and poop, and wash their clothes, blankets and pee pads. They're mine. He can have the house and kids, I'll keep the dogs!

| If we were to get a divorce, DH knows both the pups are mine. The cats would most likely go with me as well because really... I'm the one that takes care of them
