| In need of a lil Christmas Lighting/Decorating motivation... Anyone else feel the need for a Christmas lighting/decorating thread for inspiration? With both my kids away at college and it just being me & ZoE at home...I just can't seem to find the motivation to drag out the Christmas decorations and get them up. I don't even have lights up outside yet ...and that is so not like me. We used to live in a subdivision with plenty of kids, so even as mine got older and cared less about the decorating (outside) the young neighbour kids still enjoyed my outdoor lighting display. No longer in a subdivision and no kids at home...I'm just lacking the motivation to get stuff done. Anyone got photos of their decorating and/or lighting display to inspire me?

| I just got mine up this past weekend. The husband was really baw humbug, but he helped. Have you tried putting on some Christmas music and opening a nice bottle of wine? That helps me.

| I have some really pretty pictures of lights in our back yard around our pond and stream that I will put up later today so keep watching the thread. Now my Husband put the outdoor stuff but My routine is I put the inside stuff up at the lastest Thanksgiving weekend so I have it done and over with and I dont have to worry about it in Dec. I dread doing it but Im always glad I have it done and I can go on. Even if there arent children around I think its important to decorate for christmas because it puts you in the spirit. Every year I buy some little something to add to it so I have some new. Find some other fun things you can do like make a christmas decoration or make some fudge you could give to neighbors and to people like your vet. Thats another thing I am doing this year. I bought these cute tins and Im gonna fill them with candy and give them to mailman, teachers, my daughters bus drivers, the exterminator that comes to our house. Those type of things are really cherished and appreciated and it gets me in the spirit of giving

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think Christmas lights are one of the most wonderful parts of the season. We always drive around and look at lights and it makes me feel so hopeful. It's not just for kids, it's for anyone that wants to believe in something bigger than themselves. Merry Christmas, and Happy Holiday Season to everyone.

| We put up our big tree, mini tree, and hung one strand of outdoor lights on our porch this weekend, and also hung up our stockings and put the red candy bowl out. We're done.
