Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Technology is an incredible tool & unfortunately it CAN be used against us. I'd suggest looking at your phones & following the steps to inactivate your GPS for the camera. The steps they said in the video are Settings...Location Services...Camera Thanks Michelle for posting this.

| I had no idea, but at least if sounds like it can be fixed easily. Going to do that soon.

| I just checked mine. I have an older Droid and the place to change the setting was from the camera. Pretty scary stuff!

| this is why i will never post pics of my child online. i barely have myself on things much anymore. i have a few here and there but mostly the dogs and even that could lead to me if they were from a smart phone which i don't think i'll ever own or want. i'm not that into big technology and fine with my simple phone things like this really freak me out as a parent. the internet and technology is getting way too crazy and sneaking around on us people and trying to monitor our every move without telling us they are able to do so. and child crimes and bad people know more about these little glitches than we do. scary world. have to be extra protective and careful |

| I remember I did turn off my geo tags a while ago. But going through the settings again, I turned off the shutter sound for the camera too. LOL Now I can sneak pics like I've always wanted.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Wow thanks for posting, what great information, I had no idea a smart phone could do this; I'm glad you can change your privacy setting, but that should be the default setting. Gee with all the teenage girls posting such risqué pictures, I wonder if they realize how easy it would be for a predator to find them?

| Wow I had no idea. I mean I know they can track pretty easy using a cell phone I just didn't think about them doing it through a picture taken with a phone. I just got my first android (haven't posted any pictures yet) so good info to know. Why is this setting on the phone in the first place, that doesn't seem right.
