| Should I feel guilty? I have ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder) and every so often I will have "bad" days. Anything from anxiety attacks to flashbacks, and on those days I will isolate and not want to be bothered at all. Kaos knows when I am having a "bad" day. He snuggles up next to me the entire day and licks my face, or jumps in my lap. Of course I take care of all his basic needs, but I am just not up to play and interact like I normally do. I feel like a bad mommy at the end of the day, because of this. Should I?

| No, I think Kaos understands more than you think he does.

| Two way relationship Friends take care of each other in times of need. You take care of all of Kaos' wants and needs, and he in return takes care of you in your time of need. Feel blessed that you have such a special relationship with Kaos. |

Don't kick yourself. As much as we'd like to be available to our pups 24/7....it's just not feasible for most of us, so we do the best we can, when we can.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I agree with chattiesmom. I bet he enjoys the snuggle days having Mom by his side all day.

| I sometimes have bad depression or anxiety days and don't play with Callie like I normally do but she seems to understand and just stays close to me and is my cuddle bug. I think he can probably feel how your feeling and is ok with just being your cuddle bug.

| I agree, you are giving him lots of love and attention on bad days, not ignoring him! some days are just more active than others! That does not make you a bad mommy at all. Most of my quality time with my pups is snuggle time. They run around the back yard 4-5 times a day for awhile but mostly when they are with me they just snuggle.

| Awww, don't feel bad Kaos is one special baby, and he knows that you love him. I felt bad for a long time because I was gravely ill for a few months and neglected my girls. My hubby and daughter were doing all the things that I usually did and I felt like a horrible Mommy But they do understand. During that time, they would not leave my side, only to eat and potty. Dogs are just so sensitive to our moods/emotions/physical illnesses, and they do know how much we love them.

| I don't have any diagnosed anxiety or anything, but used to have a lot of issues during a family dispute and financial trouble, but my boyfriend bought me Harley 2 years ago to help me with anxiety and stress, it helped a lot. They know when you're having a bad day. Thats why they have service dogs, and emotional support dogs. These guys just know, and most of the time they know how to react. Just give him extra love and play on the good days, he'll keep returning the favor on the bad ones.

| Thanks for all your replies guys! It definitly makes me feel better. I always try to make up for these days by playing a LOT extra on my good days. Its a bit funny though, even when I'm not up to playing and I grab a toy...he can ALWAYS tell when I'm just doing it for him and refuses to engage in play and goes back to sleep. He's such a smart little boy.

| Kaos knows you are a good Mommy, I'm sure! I wouldn't feel bad.. chattiesmom said it very well! I went home from work with a horrible migraine, Pnut was very excited to see me, but knew something was wrong. He layed with me for the rest of the day =) they are very smart little animals esp when it comes to their Mommas!!

| Don't feel guilty. Dogs are such nurturers, days like you describe really gives them their time to minister to us - which they so love to do. Since God made animals to be help meets, what Kaos does for you is one of his reasons for being.
