| 2005 Christmas Tree Festival I have been involved with Childrens Hospital here in Akron for a long time and every year one of their biggest money making projects is the Tree Festival. Large Co's and people decorate trees and we sell them with all profits going to the hospital ...some go for very lg. amounts. My favorite tree each year is the bottie tree that has hats and botties people have knitted for the premies and pictures of the baby. One of the pictures this year was a picture of this little one with her arm through her Mom's wedding ring ( that is how tiny she was) We had a 6' man see his picture, it's just wonderful. We always have dinner on Thanksgiving and then go down to volunteer for 4 or 5 hrs. I wasn't going to go and then thought I am not going to miss all the fun. My family hates to do the selling part and I love to and we had a ball. They can buy but they must leave it there until Sunday when it is over and volunteers deliver all 161 lg trees and about 75 mini . I was so busy , I only got a couple shots but will get more on Sunday. The baseball one even came with the stuffed people and monitor. I have to get a picture of the Target Tree and Fed Ex Custom Critical have really special ones this year. The Doggie Brigade was there, this is a group of dogs that go to the hospital to lift the childrens spirits and of course all the visiting children loved that. It's never held at the hospital but at the Convention Center. Here are the couple shots I was able to get. Thanks to my son and Mike's advise on the best way to take them, they really didn't turn out too badly. These four were not in the room with all the others. Sorry this is so long.
