| Why do I keep seeing boys/teens growing duck tails? and other trends. I see them all the time, and it seems like they all decided to start growing duck tails last month. They are all at the awkward length of about 2" longer than the rest of their hair. It just looks like the barber missed a spot. No one has a full on duck tail yet, but I did see one OG gangster little 6 year old who had a foot long braided rat tail. He must have been growing that since he was in the womb. He was bad ass. I have even seen sideways ducktails, and no they are not as cute as sideways ponytails. Is this just a CA thing? Are boys/teens doing this in your area too? Also I am seeing everyone wearing Toms shoes. What's up with that? Not only are they ugly but they look like they'd have absolutely NO arch support. I get the whole charity thing they do, that's commendable, but their shoes are ugly. Everyone from hipsters, to soccer moms, to toddlers I've seen wearing these things. Any comments? Any YTers out there wear them? What's so great about them?

| I have not heard or seen anything of which you are talking about. I live in a small town though so maybe that's why.

| Oh ok, sorry, it is rat tail, not duck tail. Duck tail is on the front of the head like a pompadour. Rat tail is in the back. 80s ducktail hairstyle - Google Search See? Classy huh?

| Personally, the trend that I see on campus, which I cannot understand is those longchamp purses. $200 for nylon. Seriously.

| I have not seen any teenagers here sporting that thing! Yuck! Now the Tom's my daughter's friends all bought them for school and of course she begged too. She tried them on and hated them. Thank GOD because I think they are hideous!

So they have no arch support right? I can't imagine they do. They are paper thin. Flip flops look more comfortable than those.

| So they're growing duck tails or rat tails? If it's rat tails, those never went out of "style" with the people in this hood. Then again, neither did those "pipe" wide jeans, or long Jean skirts. I should take pics of all the hideous things people wear in this area.

| Oh my gosh, rat tails were sooo popular when I was in Junior High (20 years ago) all the boys had them. Then they all cut them off. I can't say Ive seen them making a comeback in my area, yet anyways. As for the Toms shoes, I never heard of or saw them, but the camel cord wedges are soooooooo cute I might need to get a pair, and help charity of course!

| Years ago, my friends and I wore something like the Toms shoes without the elastic near the toes. We bought them in Chicago's Chinatown. They are horrible for feet, no padding and no support. Rat tails, I have never seen anywhere but on tv. Ugly and silly! Don't know why anyone would want one.
