YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Animal Control Officers jumping out of the bush?? Okay two days ago I heard on a talk show program in our city about the crack down on "unlicensed dogs" and in particular these bylaw enforcement officers jumping out of the bushes to waylay in particular dog walkers to see if all their dogs have their license tags. If not each infraction is a fine of $240 dollars. This really really bothered me; wth jumping out of the bushes? Oh and just so you know only two weeks ago a woman was attacked in High Park in the middle of the day by a rapist .. He jumped out of the bloody bushes and attacked her!. That was the same day I was in that park walking my dogs and btw licensed and leashed. At the time I thought well thank god I don't have to worry about this with my big dogs. That rapist would have been toast. But now I have to worry about bylaw enforcement officers jumping out at me and my dogs?????? I think this behaviour is beyond the pale by bylaw enforcement officers. They put themselves, the owners and the dogs at risk with such aggressive actions. I want to express my outrage somewhere and to someone. Before something bad happens to these officers. What do you all think about this?

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | That does seem ridiculous. If true, I'd carry a can of Mace and spray first and ask questioned later. I wonder if it was just one random example someone gave in the paper. The officer was standing behind some bushes and walked up when the dog-walkers passed.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Well it could be I suppose, they did have that person on the talk show being interviewed ... Mace spray would work if I was walking Razz the Yorkie, but with the big ones my first worry would be the dogs response. So both hands on lead.
