| Lucky Bamboo I have a couple bamboo's they are kinda big. They are in those glass pots... You know it has little frogs on it and turtles. Well I had them in my living room at my old apt, they were doing great so big and green!! Well in my new house I have one of those kitchen window things that pop out. It gets sun pretty much 70% of the day and Im sure it gets kinda warm.... Well I have only had my bamboo in the window since Fri Oh my lord good think I checked on it the whole back side ( facing the window) turned WHITE!! I thought bamboo liked sun?? What the!!!??!? How do I fix it? I cut the really bad ones off, I read where you should cut them against the stock where it is growing out... Ugh I hope the whole thing doesnt die!!

| Bamboo prefers low light. Move it to a less sunny location and it should come back if it wasn't too badly damaged.

| You may have to trim some leaves, but it looks like it should be okay. A friend gave me a small one recently and I keep it on the kitchen counter, off to the side of the window.

| I cut the ones that were really bad, real white and thin. I think I might have a chance to nurse it back to health LoL. Do you still have yours? How big is it? I took all the ones I have out of that window, I did leave my mini rose bush there. I have 5 bamboo's I placed them on the kitchen counters where it will get a little sun Now I need to find house plants that love sun. I have to put something in my kitchen window!

| LOL I used to sell lucky bamboo. Have you ever eaten bamboo shoots? Delicious. No wonder pandas like them. I think you should put herbs in your kitchen window. I tried an outdoor garden in Lake Elsinore and the only thing that survived the heat and dryness was the garlic chives, and the bunnies got to those before I did. Nothing else grew I wanted to get the countertop herb garden growing thing, but didn't want to pay $120.

| Actually Lucky "Bamboo" are not really bamboo! They are totally unrelated plants! The Wikepedia article on this plant says, "Yellow or brown leaf edges may be caused by too much direct light, crowded roots, or fluoridated or chlorinated water, the latter of which can be prevented by leaving tap water exposed to the air for a day before plant use. Salty or softened water can also cause this". We used to have a couple of these and they also did well for a little while and then kind of bit the dust.

| I made the mistake of putting mine in the window & all of the leaves dried & crumpled up. I moved it into the hallway & it's growing like crazy, more than it has the last 4 years I've had it. It hardly gets any sunlight, if any at all, but I guess it's used to it from growing under a canopy in the wild.

This is the kitchen countertop herb thing I was talking about. I guess when I wanted it they were about $120, this particular one is only about $80. http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx?view=2&app=detail¶ms=item^K126666, RecTypeInd^IOFFER,navlist^K126666*K32010*K33250*,c p^detail,tmp^related,cpprod^K32002,cm_scid^dtlr&wa lk=&cmtags=
