| Unique housewarming gifts... I need an idea for a unique housewarming gift. I am going to visit my friends new house next week- the problem is she JUST got married and got all the typical household items at her shower. I want to try and bring something unique, not something she already has. Any ideas for unique gifts?

| What about an personalized welcome mat? I also like the welcome signs that have the family's names and established date.

| I agree with something personalized, like a welcome mat or a welcome sign with their name on it. If they just moved it then you could make a gift basket with a meal in it for them. Or if it is a brand new house something for the yard like a tree, shrub, rose bush. Just some suggestions....may not be worth a darn but there you go.

| Thanks Guys! I love the idea of something personalized- of course I waited until almost the last minute on this thing, so I will have to get on it today and see if I can get anything in time!

| My brother and his fiance just moved in together, so I bought a climbing rose bush for them to put in their yard. I went to Michael's and bought a yard sign, rather small, painted it and stenciled their names on it and the words "New Beginnings, est: and the date." They loved it, and since it was in a pot they could care for it until they wanted to tackle the outdoors, and figure out where they might want to grow the vine. When I moved one of my gal pals got me a decorative garden sign that I could add (via laminate sticker) my new house number. I have it in my garden now, it's stars and stripes since I am an Army wife, but there are so many different one's out there. Good luck!

When I moved last year, I downsized to a lil cottage about a quarter of the size of my previous home. The last thing I wanted was more stuff in the house. I loved getting flowering plants
