I think about this everytime I hear it on Animal Cops,,, BUT, I often wonder DO THEY EVER get that.... I doubt it... I wish anyone that abuses an animal would get prison time and huge fines... why do they always threaten huge penaties, but never give them?? Anyone know of a big fine or jail time for a animal crime?? Or is it just a threat, that isn't followed through on?? Wondering...

No. Come to think of it...i havent heard of anyone actually getting punised for it. HUMMMM!

If everyone would get those major fines and not get off so easily maybe people would think twice about animal abuse!

I wish they would put them away too, Animal Cops makes me cry I love the show, but it just upsets me. i want to think that every animal gets treated like my babies

What a trip! I was just talking to my husband about this a few days ago. The other day I was watching Animal cop or one of those shows and there was a lady who was fined over 7 g's in fines. But as far as prison time, I have yet to see that. And most of these people should be locked of for their cruelty and/or neglect!

It's a shame that they don't. The problem is that there are other considerations taken into account when sentencing occurs. In many states there are sentencing guidelines. There are also considerations of prior convictions. These are not controlled by local government, but are based upon state laws and overcrowded state prisons and local jails. When people get fed up enough, perhaps then they will act to change the state laws and be willing to fork over more of their tax money to build state and local jails as well.

I think they do get some time and some fines! Especially those that chose to fight there dogs. I think they do get the harsher punishment--but mostly because their are usually drugs, and plus illegal gambling involved. But just for 'plain' animal cruelty...um I think they get small fines.

Believe me they dont have big fines neither the have sentences in jail . Recently we have had dogs in the worst conditions . The owners asked for a court order . The owners ended up with their dogs and have to pay $200.oo
It is outrageous how they can go away with crimes .
