| Cut burnt the roof of my mouth! Im having dental work done on one side of my mouth where I am missing a tooth so I chew on the other side of my mouth all the time now. Almost 2 weeks ago I was eating something hot and it cut/burnt the roof of my mouth on the side I chew on. Well all this time has passed and because I chew on that side, it is still not healed and it's sore when I eat. Makes me not want to eat. Also makes me nervous to have a cut in my mouth for almost 2 weeks. I knew a girl recently who had a cut on her tounge for awhile, finally went to the dentist and they sent her to the doctors immediately. She had a tumor in her tounge and had to have part of her tounge removed and skin grafts from her wrist and her hip to repair it. Now whenever I have any problems in my mouth area it makes me think of that and I get sooooo nervous! Not to mention it HURTS!!!! WWwaaahhhhh

| Injuries do take longer to heal inside of the mouth. It does not have a lot of access to oxygen which helps healing process. You might want to see your family practitioner just because you may need an antibiotic to help it heal. Rinsing your mouth regularly w Listerine will help also - germ killer. Wow, that story of the mouth cancer would be scary. |

| Your dentist could probably also give some antibiotics if he thought it wasn't healing. |

| I would try gargling with warm salt water to see if that helps.
