| Just got done reading The Art of Racing in the Rain I just finished this book. It was pretty good. The story was told through the eyes of a dog. It was definitely a tear jerker. I would recommend this to anyone who is a dog lover. Anyone else read any good books lately?

| I loved it! Read it a few months ago. I liked The Search by Nora Roberts... based upon dogs in a way, but other things as well. She was a dog trainer so a large part of the story was about her and her Labs. I LOVED it! Jodi Picoult has been a favorite author of mine for a while now, even before her big ones like My Sister's Keeper, etc, came out. I'm not fond of her recent one though but most of them I LOVE!!!

Have you read any Nicholas Sparks books? I have read EVERY one of his books. The Guardian is one of his books about a Great Dane. I have cried reading everyone of his books.

| It's a very long book about a guy who gets a dog by default and the deep love he develops for this animal without ever expecting it and the lengths he goes to to give that dog all he feels it wants or needs in life. They live up in the northeast or Canada or someplace like that. He makes a doggy door so Merle and come and go at will, etc., as a way to show his love for Merle. It takes up the life that a person can have sharing it with a dog and as I recall goes in depth about dog psychology, why's of behavior, etc., as this guy becomes so infatuated with all things dog he begins to research and learn all about dogs. Since it covers many years with a dog, it becomes hard to read through the ending of the book but you have to do it. It expresses the draw and love of a human and a dog so poignantly throughout every page one has to experience the whole thing and read through the rough part.

| That dog lived the life of Riley, didn't he? I would have been too scared to let my dog do things the protagonist did but the love story and the mystical bond between the two - and the circle of friends - was the magic of that story I thought.
