| Need Some Help - found puppy First...I know it's been a long time since I've logged on Been uber busy here with school and life. My boyfriend and I were coming home Wednesday night and saw a puppy trotting along at the entrance to our apartment complex. I stopped and picked him up. He's not the first I've found but the other had tags and he was promptly returned home. This one had no collar, appears to be well cared for. He's not dirty or matted, a lil skinny but nothing bad. We drove around a bit to see if anyone was out looking for him and nothing. So that night I put up signs around our complex, posted blurbs on craigslist, Lejeune Yard Sales (local sorta craigslist) and called the animal shelter to let them know I had him. Also let my apartment managers and the one next to me know about him. So far? Nothing. I can't keep him. He's a beautifully sweet dog. Appears to be husky/labrador, so he's going to be a decent sized dog. I'd estimate by his size that he's approximately 10-16 weeks old. He looks to be the same size as Bella. 15 pounds or so. I live in a studio apartment and have Bella and a cat, Zoey. I don't have the room for him. (I really wish I could tho, he's so sweet) My questions are: 1) How long am I able to keep him before I can simply try to rehome him? I don't want to take him to the shelter here because they're packed full already and I'm afraid they'll put him down. At this point, I'm pretty sure he was abandoned and has no mama or daddy trying to find him 2) Does anyone know of any rescues that might be willing to take him? I contacted C.A.P.S. - Carolina Animal Protection Society - Main Page and so far have not heard back. I understand they're all volunteers so hopefully should hear something back soon. They advised on their website to contact one and they'll pass along the information to the others in my area. So they're not getting spammed out with requests. I feel kinda stuck because I cannot just give this puppy up to just anyone. I want to make sure he's going to a good place and I'm willing to keep him for a lil while longer so I can follow through with that. My boyfriend isn't crazy about him since you know, he's a puppy. And puppy's whine and cry and get a lil rambunctious. I don't mind because I know it's lessening by the day and he really is a good boy. I'm crate training him already and he lets me know when he has to go out. He comes when called and can sit already. I'd appreciate any thoughts anyone has. And of course, am attaching a picture so you can all see Buddy.

| OH my gosh! He's so cute! I hope you are able to find his home. I can't imagine someone isn't looking for him but I hear that things are different in other parts of the country. We mostly have a few pit mixes and lab mixes in our shelter and they aren't puppies. |

| He has such a pretty face. Looks like maybe a little Akita mix with the curled tail. Have you contacted any vets offices to see if anyone has lost a pup? Good luck! |
