| Anyone tried to use " The Secret" method of thinking? Hey yall First time in the off topic section. I was watching streaming Netflix last night and searching for a movie to enjoy, I ran across a documentary of sorts called "The Secret". It is all about positive thinking and visualizing, kinda putting out there in the universe what you want or need and it responding to you or how you put out negative things and thats what you get. I was so hooked I watched it again with Hubby when he came in from work. We are both going to try it and see what happens . Just wondered if anyone else was using this?

| I've never seen the documentary but I do believe in the power of positive thinking...and I do believe what you think about you bring about. I've proven over and over to my husband that positive thinking brings positive results but he's still skeptical...negative by nature is hard to change. |

| Never seen it, but I have Netflix, I think I'll go watch it. I'm in need of some positivity. In my own experience, when things get rough nothing gets accomplished when I pout, or think negatively. I moved out 4 years ago when I went to university and have had family and financial troubles since. Somehow, I paid for 4 years of university out of my pocket, and until last month I was not able to get any debt except a credit card, only positive thinking caused me to find a way out of each little problem. I'm in a negative slump now, so I will most likely find a way to pay off this new debt by thinking positively. So I guess it can work, just not seeing it right now. So I guess I need to watch that documentary and try and get my life and my finances on a positive track. Good luck with it too.

| Thanks for the comments and good luck to you all as well . I have decided it works . At least it has so far this week. I have been visualizing among other things unexpected money and this morning there was an extra 44 bucks in my checking account where the Treasury department discovered that they underpaid my son (he is on SSI for Austium). I know it isn't much and some would say that it would have happened anyway but I will take it as a sign that it works . Now next time maybe it will be money meant for me? Ya never know .

| I am a firm believer in positive thinking. And I believe that there are many "forces" at work in the universe that we can neither see, hear, or otherwise acknowledge their presense other than intuition. I also believe that God is always at work in our lives and that satan tries to intefere. What I'm not quite sure of is how to put it all together to make sense, so for now I just believe. Headed to Netflix to check out the video while I sew. |

| This is a very old concept... Paul wrote to the Philippians 4:8 Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever thing are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report...if there be any virture and if there be any praise, think on these things... I have tried to think this way for 50 plus years and it is now a habit to think positive...like putting on your clothes in the morning, brushing your teeth, combing your hair...think and look for the good in the world and people... |

| Isn't the guy who wrote "The Secret" on trial for the sweat lodge deaths? I've been listening to that guys trial a bit. If those dead and nearly dead hadn't feared being considered too negative, not a "team player" by their leader and the group and gotten out, it might have turned out better for them. I am not sure if that is the same "Secret" or not that you are referring to but I think it may be.
