| Has anyone had fluid around their ovaries? I went to the doctor yesterday and ended up in the ER. My right side was hurting. They did blood work and an untrasound. Didn't really tell them anything so they sent me home. Well I went back to my doctor and they sent me back to the hosiptal to get a CT. Appendix is fine but it showed fluid around my right ovary. Has anyone had this before? How do they treat it? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Did they say there was a fluid-filled cyst...or just fluid? I had excruciating cysts and they did the ultrasound first, then CT, then MRI...and the cyst did not need to be removed. The treatment was to take birth control pills straight thru, without a break for a cycle. I hope you hear more soon...the waiting is the worst . Please keep us posted. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

| They said fluid, maybe they meant cysts? (but they didn't say anything about cysts) I will find out more tomorrow hopefully at my regular docotor. It is painful however |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It sounds like maybe it's not a cyst then. I think I know the pain you might be going thru...it can be like a knife .

| Aww, so sorry. I've had the whole ovary pain thing before. It felt like it was going to rip through my skin.

| An endocrinologist told me it could have been the normal follicle thing that you get monthly. Normal to feel like that? Ummm, no. Of course it was a guy that said that.

| Not sure about the fluid thing but I have had a cyst on an ovary before and it's definitely no laughing matter! I had to have a friend drive me to the dr. and then after he saw me he told me it was a cyst and "oh by the way... aren't you trying to get pregnant? well, now's the time.... the reason it's hurting so bad is because you're ovulating". His recommendation... go home and take advantage of the ovulating thing. Seriously?? I was in way too much pain for hanky panky!! Needless to say we didn't get pregnant that month. Hope you're feeling better very soon!
