| Gift ideas for nephews? I have 4 nephews ranging in age 7 to 12 and I have no idea what to do for them for Christmas. They receive so many gifts from their large family and numerous close family friends, so they have just about everything a kid could want or need. They are such good boys that I want to do something for them. If they didn't live 800 miles away from me, I would plan a special outing. Any ideas?

| Seeing as how I hate kids, no. Seriously though, is there a type of sport or activity they enjoy? Are they all brothers or are they cousins? Like a day of go cart racing or something? Since you want to give them an experience and not a thing, perhaps that is something that might work? Golf lessons? Swimming with dolphins? Maybe passes to an aquarium or animal park? Something fun yet kind of educational too?

Great ideas...now you have me thinking. They already have season passes to all of the museums and the aquarium in Chicago, but I'll look for another activity to buy tickets or lessons. Perfect! You are so clever, Captain. BTW, did you see that Johnny Depp went to the Justin Bieber concert? I bet he did it for his daughter.

| Do they like sports? How about a Chicago Bulls game?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | The best different gift idea I've heard of this year is rather than to buy a material item is to buy an experience for someone (material gifts are often forgotten whereas an experience gift can be remembered for a lifetime). Even though you live far away is there not something in their area you could buy tickets for and have their parents take them? Or, even pay for a few lessons if they want to take a class; karate, guitar or art lessons, it was even suggested cooking lessons, but I don't know if your nephews would enjoy that

When I was younger I always asked for tickets to a yankees game or a broadway show or something for my birthdays- this way my whole family could enjoy a day together- I still remember many of these days, long after things I have been given have been broken, sold, or given away. | |

| Thank you everyone for the ideas. They love sports, but I fear that if I sent tickets to a game, my brother (their father) would probably take 4 of his friends. I'm definitely going to choose something that gives the boys an experience/lessons.

| Me too, but you have to respect JD for not imposing anything on his kids. He probably knows that they will develop taste and grow into their genetic coolness.

| Maybe you can buy your nephews tix to see Justin bieber. For sure your brother won't take 3 of his friends and it will be an experience they'll remember for a lifetime.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | There's a Medieval Times northwest of Chicago. If they're into horses and dueling type stuff, that could be fun. I went to the one in SoCal a few years ago and it was a blast. Got to eat with our fingers, throw the bones on the floor, yell all we wanted... |
