Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | My thoughts for what their worth. I wish there wasn't so much harsh postings on Yorkie Talk, I haven't been able to get in and read postings much anymore but here lately I have read a few and feel sad to see some postings. This is a wonderful site and much to be appreciated. I truely wish it would go back to being like it was when we first joined many years back, sadly there has been many people leave Yorkie Talk for this reason. Sometimes it is better to give some thought to posting before doing, so not to hurt anyone, It isn't worth it. I have read postings about not getting puppy or dog from back yard breeder, etc, etc, etc, and my heart feels sad cause ALL PUPPIES AND ALL DOGS REGARDLESS OF THEIR BREED NEED LOVING HOMES. THEY EACH DESERVE A GOOD LIFE. Sugar's Mom PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. I am off of here for awhile, BUT DEFINATELY NOT LEAVING YORKIE TALK, I HOPE IT IMPROVES, it definately needs it. Hugs, Patti and Jack |

| Hi, I am a new member here so I'm not all that familiar with everything...but I must say, as helpful as this webstite is, there are also a lot of things that make me (and others) feel terrible! I don't want to stop coming here because I know how helpful it is and will continue to be...but really, some of the comments people make, make me sad & not want to visit this website anymore Thanks for posting cause I totally agree!!! |

| My experience has been that Yorkie Talk has been very helpful and kind. I have read a few posts though that come across as judgmental. None to me, but some others. I'm not an experienced Yorkie owner, but I know others are. This is why I come to the site. I think sometimes when you "know better" that it is hard to understand those who don't know much at all. People make mistakes and come to YT to ask for help, and they always get it . Sometimes though there are also responses that are harsh criticisms about their mistakes. Overall, I think the basic core of YT is extremely supportive and loving. |

| the harsh comments are usually to long time members who should know better, but still to act for their own betterment, not the dogs. For newbies, we are very welcoming, unless someone is here purely to rile us up or back up an obviously bad breeder. I for one will not play nice to types like that. I haven't been on YT that long. I do feel there has been a change, but a change for the better. People are no longer afraid to speak out against breeding practices they think disreputable, etc instead of just everyone playing nice. How would we learn? Yes I do see groups on here, or cliques as some have called them. I see at least two. One group cares for dogs and doesn't make money selling them, and another group who does. Anyway, the other thread was closed for a reason. So i shouldn't even be commenting. Oh well.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | On an internet forum you don't have the benefit of tone or body language to help interpret the intent of a post. What some call "rude" or "mean" comes across to others as blunt or straight to the point. We all come to this board with our own built in biases. It never ceases to amaze me that the posters who are most likely to get called "mean" are the very ones that everyone turns to for good, factual advice when the going gets tough. They are the ones who will stay on line with a poster for hours on end with a sick pup, or be available by phone during a tough whelp. They are the ones who go above and beyond doing rescue work and shutting down puppy mills. Hang around long enough and you will see that these posters won't sugar coat the truth. They won't always tell you what you want to hear, but rather they will tell you what you need to hear for the sake of the dogs. I, for one, am very grateful for the "mean" and "rude" posters here. I've learned a great deal from them.

And yes we as human beings do make judgements. If you think about things from the point of view of protecting the dogs, that point of view is where many come from. We can and do differ on our verbage, our ability to or desire to couch things in strong yet clear terms. Let me give you a for instance: First time poster, comes on in Sick and Emergency: my pup is throwing up , has bloody stools, seems to be unsteady on his feet. I'm a ...... fillin the blank and can't afford vet care, what can I do? So worried about my pup. How do you respond?

For those of you that are new. People who show show believe that those of us who do not show, are making millionaires off of our dogs. The truth is we don't care to show, for our own personal reasons, mine because I have a disabled husband that I cannot leave alone, and I cannot take along to shows. I do not see why I should not be allowwd to breed for the love of the dog, just because I do not show. I am one of those who stands up for people who are under attack. I believe you can speak your mind without being vicious. And if someone choose not to take someones advice, they should not be bullied under the excuse that "we are so passionate about these dogs, we just cannot help ourselves. There is never an excuse for not being nice. Period!!!!!!! And that is all that I will say on the matter. | |

| I for one love YT and I would'nt change a thing about it. So some people speak their mind here, is that a sin? I personally like to have people tell me the truth and speak their mind then be nice to my face and talk trash behind my back. I think we are all adults here and I think that we are all entitled to our opinion be it about breeders or toys for our fur babies. I would never support a puppy mill or a back yard breeder on purpose but I do have two puppy mill fur babies. Of course I was not wise about this when I got them and now I know better and this will never happen again. Yes all the animals deserve a loving forever home but, if you buy from a puppy mill or a backyard breeder than you are supporting the way those animals are taken care of and in my opinion that is so wrong. I guess I am just trying to say that we are all entitled to voice our opinion about certain issues and if someone does not agree with our opinions it does not give them a right to verbally attack them, We are all here to learn about out furbabies, make friends, and have a good time so how about if we do just that and let everyone have their God given right to voice their opinion. Now I will step down off of my soap box and say thank you to all of the great people that have helped me through some really rough times. Nothing but love for you all. My babies are spoiled |

I totally agree. I would rather someone speak the truth rather than play that passive aggressive role, sending me friend requests while talking trash. I don't have time for that kind of game...and thank goodness YT does not make us all behave that way.
