| at&t uverse v/s comcast Anyone have at & T uverse? Have had comcast for cable and internet. Am tired of all the outages on our dead end lane. We always seem to be the last to get our systems back up and running. There are only 4 homes on this road. Heard good things about AT &T unverse. Signed up today for one of their bundles including phone. Paying more but get more channels and recordable dvr which we have never had. Worried I am making a mistake. I always do that. We have 30 days after it is installed to change our mind. money back guarntee. It gets installed Christmas eve. Any thoughts?

| We switched from comcast to at&t last year. Our cable with comcast was always messing up. At&t (uverse, we have the home phone, cable, and internet) is good on the cable, and we loved the dvr (had to cut back on the cable a couple months ago, so no more dvr). The only problem with At&t we have had, is most of the time the caller id doesn't work. I don't know why, the same person can call us 5 times in a day, and it will show up on the caller id 1 or 2 times out of the 5. It's pretty annoying. |

| Just recently have we had a choice of providers. We have had at and t for home phone (and recently switched to at and t mobile with dtr's family plan). We ordered the bundle 200 which included the recordable dvr. I have not had a caller id in a very long time. Will be nice. Can screen the i need to borrow money in laws. LOL. I think we will be good with this. It is more money than what we are paying now, but not by much. Our phone bill up to now has been 12.58 a month as we do not have long distance. Have it free on mobile. Hubby is annoyed with me a little. I asked him if he wanted a new phone number. He sd whatever I wanted so I sd new one. Now I find he wanted to keep our old one. It did not help that I asked if we had to give the new number to certain people. I heard customer service is really good.

| I have had Uverse since it came to our area almost 3 yrs ago switching from At&t DSL and Comcast cable. Over the past 3 yrs we have had quite a few issues with service BUT we have the WLS AM radio tower about a block from my house and it notorious for causing all kinds of interference in this area. When Uverse it is working properly it is great but when there were problems from the tower it was horrible! After about 100 phone calls they did eventually fix it and now it is pretty good. Even when we had the interference from the radio tower we never had any outages even during really big storms. So if you take the WLS radio tower out of the equation that caused me so much grief I like the features that Uverse offers like the DVR. The one draw back that they didn't explain to me when I ordered was that you can only have 3 TV going at once. If a 4th is turned on someone is kicked off! We have 4 boxes in our house and there have been fights between rooms bumping each other off. I also don't like the idea we have to pay for each individual box to even have the cable stations in the bedrooms.

| I read that about the 3 tv's on a review site. We only have 2 tvs so should not be a problem. Now if it was between internet and tv's that would be another matter. We have 3 comps and 2 tvs. always got both on at same time it seems. Thanks for inputs everyone.

| We have had AT&T Uverse for about two months and have had no problems whatsoever. We have tv and internet. We don't use a home phone.....don't need one as we both have cell phones. I have always received good customer service from AT&T regardless of the issue. We have four tv's going and have never had one of us kicked off....we may not get HD on all at the same time but they are all digital tv's so even the regular channels get great reception.

| We have had Comcast cable tv, then went to U-Verse tv and internet, then just U-Verse internet. I honestly think both companies are crappy. I liked Comcast cable. The internet was way more than we wanted to pay. Their customer service and deals are what I really don't like. For U-verse, we hated the channel selection. That could be fixed with a more expensive package, I suppose. The internet is good. I know so many people think U-Verse is awesome. I'm not seeing it unless you want to pay a nice chunk of change. What I really don't like about it (which was worse when we had their cable) is the setup and wires. Too much junk to string around the entertainment stand. And if you bump the box and something comes undone, it has to be reset. Just not a fan here... But for the internet, the price seems sorta fair, so we keep that.

| I am feeling better about changing. Hubby and I are stuck in our ways. He esp hates change. I can't wait till Christmas eve. They will install it that morning. Then my family will be here to celebrate Christmas.

| I'm glad you posted this thread. I heard the uverse commercial today and was going to talk to hubby about it. we don't have any issues with comcast...but it really stinks that we can only record 2 shows at a time (and you have to be watching one of them). that burns our butt quite a bit!! LOL with uverse, it says you can record 4 shows at a time and watch them on any tv. sounds pretty nice. guess we have to check out the prices and such...... let me know how you like it
