| I have my own religion, thank you. Ok, I'm not talking about religion. I have a question...how do you keep religious groups from coming to your house, trying to tell you that their religion is better than yours? I put a sign by my doorbell, but they ignored it and rang anyway. Prince gets very worked up when the doorbell rings, which will make his breathing worse. Every Sunday I have to go through this. Any ideas? (Admin, if posting this is a problem, please delete it.)

| I have found that a few strategically placed pentagrams and some fake blood around our door usually do the trick. Just kidding. I don't have any suggestions, but I can sympathize. (And for some reason, I feel like being rude to a church crusader would buy me a one-way ticket to a hotter climate.) We have no soliciting signs at the entrance to our neighborhood and we still get ppl trying to sell us vaccum cleaners every few weeks. |

| You can hang a sign over the door bell that say's "DO NOT EVEN THINK OF RINGING THIS BELL". A no soliciters sign sometimes works. A Mossberg 500 12 gauge always works. |

| It took a while for them to get the idea I wasn't interested. It also helps knowing when you see a bunch of well dressed people...they usually come in twos and fours...it is going to be them and I just don't answer the bell. |

| From what I understand, No Solicitation signs are ignored by certain religious groups. I believe that No Trespassing signs are honored by them. What I am thinking of putting on my door is this: No Solicitations No Trespassing (for religious groups) If you just put No Trespassing no one will come to your home. I don't want ANY solicitations at all. The above should cover it. I once had a sign that said No Solicitations and this includes Watchtower I never had them come, but a really persistent person would probably ignore it since the Supreme Court said they can.

| I just don't answer the door! I pretty much do not answer the door unless I recognize the person through the peep hole! Years ago when I was in property management though, we had this problem at our apartments. All the "no solicitor" signs were posted and they didn't care and we would get call after call from residents. So I always had to hop on my golf cart and go and argue with them how this indeed was soliciting and it usually ended with me saying we will let the police escort you off and decide if it's soliciting or not!

| The Shotgun will always work, and you are allowed to carry it indoors on your property! |

It is beyond me why people have such a need to invade the space of others. I don't answer my door either, but I do not like people standing out there ringing the bell annoying me and my dogs. I have thought about putting a sign out there saying...don't ring this bell ... if you know me, you will have called to let me know you are coming. All others Go Away. I have a neighbor with a sign that says all trespassers will be shot and if they get up to run they will be shot again. Not so sure I would go that far. haha

| If you don't want them to ring your doorbell, you can disable it. We got a lot of Church solicitations when we first moved in, but don't get so much any more. We do get a lot of other solicitations though. If I see them coming I usually just meet them on my front porch, or quickly put my dogs out in the back yard. My dh is too much of a softie and always tells them they will have to talk to me instead of just telling them we are not interested. Poor folks, they get false hope coming back only to have to hear me tell them no thank you. For many, it is the only job they can get and I can't imagine having to have a job where most of what you hear is rejection (with solicitors) so there is no reason to be rude, but if they push me, I will get short with them.

| Used to be bothered by a certain sect in England. I was upstairs one day and the doorbell rang. I looked out the window and sure enough it was that sect. I put on a dressing gown over my clothes and went down to answer the door. I politely told them they were interrupting the Lord's work. When they looked confused I told them that it was my husband's day off work, and the bible does say "Go forth and multiply" They never came to our house again, I think I embarrassed them
