| I got a dream job!! Well as most of you know i currently work for a veterinary hospital. I love it so much, however when i started i intended upon being a tech and going back to school. the place that employs me is not going to have the man power to ever train me or have time to allow school to happen. i don't make much for someone with a college education already and i don't really like the 10 hour shifts that are 30 minutes from home. the people are great but the management is not so good. so...i have a degree in Recreation Management. and i found the dream job. It's a the local community center in my town, literally a mile from my house or less. i could walk there! it's right by the middle school as well. the job is for front desk and office assistant. it's with the city of L---- and it's for their parks and recreation dept. it has a very good starting salary that equals to about 11-12 an hour (i make 10 now after two pay cuts in job changing) it's got EXCELLENT benefits such as after only a mild 6 months i get 10 days vacation and then up to 30 days if i save up or if i'm there for 25++ years...amazing right!! it has sick leave at up to 12 days per year earned and you can accruce up to 120 days and use it for family, kids, hubbie. yourself. i'm so excited to start and work up the ladder to a bigger and higher place in life. it's 2-10pm same shift as most of dh's shifts so i'll see him more and sleep in...it's the life for me people and i couldn't be happier to do it. they wanted a professional with goals and who wants to move up and learn and grow...and i wanted the same things in an employer. someone to educate me and challenge me and make me a star!! yay!! |

| Congrats! That is awesome! I have pretty much decided against the vet tech thing now because of money. I don't know if it'd be enough to live on comfortably. So I am back in school, finishing at the community college, and will hopefully get my degree.
