☺Farrah☺ Donating Member | Tattoo Locations & How old were you with the first There have been a few tattoo threads recently and thought it would be interesting to know where on your body you have tattoos and how old you were when you got your first. I have been wanting another tattoo for about 7 years now and don't know where to put it so I'm sort of looking for ideas. My first is on my lower back and I got it when I was 28.

| My first one was a rose on the inside of my leg towards the back above the ankle. I was 18 and it was my bachelorette party. Luckily it still looks really good and I don't regret the picture. If I'd been older, I would have researched more of what I wanted though. I did know though that the tattoo artist was one of the best in the city so I trusted him. Second one was a couple weeks ago (I'm now 38) and it's my husband's name on the inside of my wrist. We got "branded" to celebrate our 20th anniversary. He got my name tattooed on his ring finger. It's beautiful. He also got one around his arm that incorporates our daughters' names and birthdates. It's like a tribal band but he drew it up himself. It's also beautiful and our girls love it. I cringe when I hear of young girls making a decision to get a tattoo that they may regret later. Like I said, I was lucky that mine turned out very pretty and is still, 20 years later, looking very good. The guy who did my wrist offered to touch up the color for no charge but I kinda like it a little faded. The outline is still very nice although that's something you worry about - a small picture turning into a "blob". Be sure to do tons of research on what you want and make sure your tattoo artist is truly a great artist.

| Let's see....first tatoo I was 18 and I had a bird put on my shoulder which I recently had covered with beautiful butterflies. I am 41 btw. The second I was 32 and had a sunshine with tribal vines and flowers put on my lower back. still love that one. Number three I think I was 38 when I had flowers and a butterflie above my ankle. Still thinking about #4, possibly on the rib cage or foot~

| I have a scorpion on my outer upper thigh, I got that when I was 30. I got my paw prints on the top of my foot when I was 32. I am currently thinking about getting the drama masks (comedy & sorrow) on the middle of my back, not as high as my shoulder blades and not as low as my lower back... somewhere in the middle.

| I'm almost 20 and don't have one yet. I really want one to honor my 5yr old brother Connor who passed in '06 so even though I know it will be meaningful... I don't just wanna GET one. I am still thinking hard about it and wanna find the right design and/or lyrics and words, and the best place to put it before it's permanently on my body.

| My first tattoo I got when I was 18 . . .a small butterfly on my hip . . .the second tattoo I got when I was 30 its on my left ankle area, it's a wrap around with a bow and on each ribbon it has my kid's names. If I were to get another (which I probably won't) it would be something disney related or paw prints with my furbutts names . . . My daughter now has gone off the deep end with her tattoos . . .on her hip bones she has scissors, on her right ankle she has a hairdryer with the cord going down into her foot and now she has done a complete lower left leg sleeve of the game CandyLand . . . The artwork is beautiful I must say, but it's not cheap . . . . Ah, to be 21 again . . .imagine what they will look like when she's 60? Her grandkids will be like "Grammy, can we play CandyLand on your leg?"

| It is actually beautiful . . .the art work is amazing . . .I'm not too crazy about the full calve sleeve . . .I think people tend to form the wrong impression on people with tattoos. Or, maybe it's just me . . .I dunno . . .I guess the old adage that my parents drilled into my head is still there . . ."first impressions are lasting impressions"

[/QUOTE] I've resisted the urge for the past 22 years to get a beautiful fantail goldfish tatooed on my hipbone. I used to weigh 99# until I hit my late 30's and now that I'm 50 if I'd gotten that goldfish it would look like a gold Moby Dick! |

| I got my first last year at age 48. It is the word "love" with a side heart attached to the e done on the inside of my wrist. The word is my late aunt's handwriting done in the black ink and my daughter added the heart which is red. She and I got them together (her's is on the opposite wrist) to commerate my aunt who was always my favorite person in the whole world. I'm thinking about another on the top outside of my foot eventually, but don't know if I'll do it as hubby had a cow when he saw this one!

| I got my first (and only!) tattoo at 19, sophomore in college. It is a small heart on my hip. It doesn't have any real meaning and I mostly got it just because I could, but I still like it (which is a good thing, since it was only about 3.5 years ago)! I don't think I will get another anytime soon, but maybe one day.

| Let's see. The first one I got at 18. It's a 2 Ball on my stomach. The second one I got when I was 18 - a moon, cloud and stars on my hip. The 3rd and last one I got was when I was 20 and it's an intricate star on my shoulder. |
