| Style Advice Needed- Which shoes for a sun dress? I'm so fashion challenged that I can barely put an outfit together, and I want to dress up just a little tomorrow. I've got two dresses I haven't decided between yet, one is mostly green and pink and the other is a red with white flowers outlined on it. I'm going to wear the red unless the sunless tanner I just used doesn't fix my halter top tan lines a little bit. My question is, I've got a pair of super cute high heel shoes, they are open toe and are black patent leather, with the cork look that so many shoes have right now for the heel and along the bottom. Are they too much to go with those dresses? I know it's tough since you can't see them, but they are pretty simple little sun dress types. I'm just going out to a movie and an early dinner, nothing fancy. I just don't want to look like an idiot, but the shoes are so cute I want to wear them somewhere. Thanks in advance! |

| Bump! You think you're fashionly challenged? I don't know what a sundress is, and I don't know how to do makeup either. Maybe I'll learn something from this thread.

| Are they wedges? Wedge sandals always go with sundresses. If not, a cork sole and heel would work as well since the cork would give a heel a casual look.

| Okay, here are pics, help a poor girl out. And if the dress won't work with them what kind of dress should I wear them with. I've got a pair of wedge sandals that will be fine if these won't work. DvlshAngel985- I'm addicted to make up, I have more of it than I'll use in the next 5 years, but I always end up buying more when I pass a counter it seems like. I just lost weight and want to start dressing cuter, I just don't know where to start with putting things together lol. |

| Oh, and the dress sitting under the shoe is my other one, it's a little longer, right at knee length where the other one is a few inches above. It flares out a little more and the red one is a little closer to my hips and legs. The red one is more flattering and I just did my nails to match though, so that's the one for tomorrow. |

| I think it'll be cute with the red dress...try to incorporate black somewhere else too, maybe with some jewelry like a bracelet or earirngs.

| I'll wait for the pictures. I'm very into fashion-as I sit here in my ratty sweat pants, tee shirt and shoeless-so don't take advice from me. Thank heavens I wear scrubs to work.

| Ok pics are up, and I do have some black jewelry I've never even worn, or I've got some really cute black stuff, but it's more colored like a black pearl, that wouldn't work would it? |

| I think the shoes would go great with the red dress... I agree that you should wear some black jewelry to match the shoes. What you described will work. I think the black shoes would be too much with the green/pink dress because the dress itself is so bright, it would be too much to wear the flashy shoes. Hope this helps! Have fun!

| Thanks for all the advice guys, I appreciate it. I'll dig out my black jewelry to go with them. I've also got a really cute pair of silver heels, pretty similiar in style to those except without the cork, any ideas of what to wear with those? I've been looking for a nice black skirt and shirt with silver in it, but haven't found anything I liked yet. |

| Here are some fashion "rules" that I give my clients when I am doing personal styling for them...if the dress is crazy busy (like the pink and green one) go for something like a nude heel or wedge or w metallic heel. If the dress is a bit more understated (like the red one) let the shoe/accessories be the focal point! I think the black shoes are perfect for the red dress!! And without having seen the silver heels those might work with the pink and green sundress!! Hope that helps! If you have any other questions feel free to PM me!! Don't worry about being fashion challenged! You would be surprised at who is fashionably challenged and is a celeb in mags looking perfect all the time! :-) |
